Marissa effectively communicated with the students using questioning techniques to continually monitor the mastery
of skills being taught. Marissa also adjusted instruction as needed taking into account the individual learning needs of
the students. Students were engaged in the lessons and Marissa used many different means of instructional delivery
including manipulatives, technology, working on the board, small and large groups, projects, and learning centers.
Marissa provided specific feedback and scaffolding to students throughout the lesson delivery. Marissa showed
flexibility during unplanned activities such as snow and weather related late-start days

‘Comments: Marissa followed all school rules and procedures. Marissa used the methods prescribed by the school
district to support student learning including engaging parents and working with other faculty in the building. Marissa
‘was able to work on multiple IEP documents and update goals during the special education placement. She was aware
of the requirements for continuing professional development as she grows as a teacher. Marissa was proactive and
‘timely when submitting documents to the cooperating teacher or university supervisor.
General Comment
‘Throughout her experience, Marissa grew and refined her lesson preparation. She understood that she was a novice
teacher and taking the time to look at all the resources the textbooks have to offer was a great way to be prepared for
the lesson.
Marissa was able to show initiative through material creation in the classroom based on student needs. She created
informal assessments for students based on the learned material. Her initiative and positive work ethic, added to her
performance in the classroom, made her a top candidate in this section of student teaching.
Pacing of the lesson was spot on. She was able to take over a lesson at a moment's notice and implement the
cooperating teacher's lesson. She implemented many different strategies to ensure student learning.
