Name: TEACHER TEST PACKET

Materials Needed-
Station 1- wooden block shapes- green triangles/ blue parallelograms/ red quadrilaterals/ yellow cubes.
- Sheet with students names and amounts for picture and bar-graphs. Located at the end of the test.
Station 2- foam squares
- Sheet with students names and amounts for picture and bar-graphs. Located at the end of the test.
Station 3- Quiet area for students to work.

(Verbal Directions)- Read below

During this activity, you get the chance to show me all that you have learned about picture and bar graphs.
There are three different activities on this project. Remember to do your best work because this will show me
what you really know. There are three stations around the room. You can start on any table; just make sure to
read all the directions.
1. Create a Picture Graph (Table 1)
(Verbal Directions)- This is station one where we will be creating our picture-graph. We will flip to our second page titled
picture graph. The second page is just the outline for where you will make your graph. You will write on your sheet labeling
amounts and categories, and then find your name on the sheet at the center of the table, and create the graph with the actual
objects as it shows. There is a checklist on the side of your test to help you remember all the things I will be checking for on
each graph. Are there any questions? Give me a thumbs up if you understand. (If all have thumbs up, move on to station two.
If not all have thumbs up find what else they do not understand, and give more specific clear directions.) Once you have
finished all the checks. Raise your hand and have Mr. Hewitt take a picture before clearing off your graph. Have the students
repeat this step because it is very important.
2. Create a Bar Graph (Table 2)
(Verbal Directions)- This is station one where we will be creating our bar-graph. We will flip to our third page titled picture
graph. The second page is just the outline for where you will make your graph. You will write on your sheet labeling amounts
and categories, and then find your name on the sheet at the center of the table, and create the graph with the actual objects as
it shows. There is a checklist on the side of your test to help you remember all the things I will be checking for on each graph.
Are there any questions? Give me a thumbs up if you understand. (If all have thumbs up, move on to station two. If not all
have thumbs up find what else they do not understand, and give more specific clear directions.) Once you have finished all the
checks. Raise your hand and have Mr. Hewitt take a picture before clearing off your graph. Have the students repeat this step
because it is very important.
3. Answer the comparing/ take-apart/ put-together questions (Table 3)
(Verbal Directions)- The last station is answering some simple put-together, take-apart, and comparing problems on the 4th
page of your test. Read the graph on the page and do your best to answer correctly. Can anyone tell me the three stages and
what order to go in? Yes, you can go in any order, but make sure that you do your very best and have Mr. Hewitt take a picture
of your own personal graphs that you made.
STOP, STOP, STOP until the teacher gives all the directions. Once the students finish the test. They must look on the
board and finish any of the work left on the I Love Learning section of our board.

Picture Graph Sheet- Find name your name on the sheet on the center of table 1. Gather the amounts of objects
needed by your name. First label the amounts and categories on the graph below. Second, place your
objects correctly making a picture graph. Once you are finished GET MR. HEWITT TO TAKE A PICTURE BEFORE YOUR
WIPE OFF SHEET.

Quick Checklist

I wrote number amounts

on my graph.

I wrote all 4 categories

on my graph.

I neatly placed my

objects so that it

matches my amounts and

objects.
