Thus, I have seen her teach on several occasions. Maria has also taken three of my classes, so I also know her as a university student. Both inside and outside the classroom, Maria is dedicated to being a professional teacher. Maria has recently completed her student teaching in a first grade classroom at the Jackson Elementary, a title one school in the Salt Lake School District. During her student teacher, Maria was successful at classroom management, planning curriculum, assessing student progress, and. 1g with parents. Maria has a strong background in science and, in particular really enjoys creating hands on experiences for her students. Before beginning student teaching, Maria has numerous teaching opportunities. She has worked in an After School program at Franklin Elementary and has been a paraprofessional at Parkview Elementary. Needless to say, Maria is well rounded and will be an amazing addition to any school faculty. Over the past year in first grade, Maria has become highly skilled at effectively managing her students. From the onset of her lessons, she establishes clear guidelines, and follows through with expectations. Without a doubt, itis clear that Maria cares about the growth of each and every student. Maria is creative when planning lessons. Her lessons are always engaging and she makes connections to what the students are learning. | like how Maria questions her students. She rarely ever “tells” them what’s happening. She really tries to let them discover why certain things happen the way they do. Maria is a strong team player. She worked well with her first grade team planning curriculum and assessment. Maria will enjoy working with a supportive and upbeat team of teachers. I give Maria a strong recommendation.
