    whatteachershadtoteachaboutstructureandtheactualartformthatwritingis,anditallowedthema
    simplerroadtoteachingwriting.IfyouaskmethatisjustadisgracetoAmerica,adisgracetomeandyou
    asstudents,andadisgracetocultureallaroundtheworld.Whilewedevelopthroughoutthe21stcenturywe
    aremoresolearningthatyouhavetobeopentomoreideas,learnaboutpeopleandtheworldandourselves
    morecloselyandalotofpeoplechoosetodothatthroughwriting.Ifwearealwaystaughtlinearthinkingand
    arerestrictedtoouronlyknowledgeofwritingfromthedaysofourgradeschoolhowarewetoproperly
    expressourworkthewaywewanttoo?Thewaywehaveimaginedittobeseen.Whoisanyoneelsetotell
    uswhatiswrongbecauseinreality,whatreallyiswrong?Iamanexartmajor,andIhavegrownuploving
    anddoingartmyentirelifefromthetimeIwas4.Isaythisbecausewhenitallboilsdowntoit,aren'tvisual
    artsandwritingsimilarinsomanyways?IsaythatIamanEXartmajorbecauseIdecidedtodropit,it
    wasahardchoiceformebecauseartisreallytheonlythingthatIknowanymore,butthenIgotintotheart
    programandrealizedIlovedittoomuchtoberestrictedbytheprogramitself.Alwayshavingdeadlinesand
    guidelinesneverallowedmetodothethingsIreallywantedtodo.WhenIgetthechancetoputitoutlike
    thatIrealize,whenitcomesdowntobeingtaughtthingslikethefiveparagraphessay,becarefulwhatyou
    makeahabitoutofonceyoulearnitbecausetherearetoomanyhorizonstobroadentolimitoneselves
    creativity.

    ideasaboutwritinghavebeenexploredbecausepeoplearetiredofbeingrestricted.Manypeoplesee
    othermethodsofexpressionoutsideofthefiveparagraphformatastaboobutIthinkitisbecause
    manyinsocietyarecomfortableinthewaythingsare.Havingsuchalayoutiskindofliketakingthe
    easyroute.WithyourdecisiontodropyouroldmajorIthinkthatyouembodythosewhohavedecided
    togoagainstthegrain.Bymakingthechoicetoputyourcraftfirst,youremindmeoftheauthorsofthe
