"The Education Abroad Network (TEAN): Gold Coast - Bond University." Gold Coast Bond University. Study Abroad 101, n.d. Web. 29 Mar. 2015.
Deciding whether or not I want to study abroad is one question; the other question
is where I want to study. After looking at top countries that students should study abroad
at I looked at Australia. I found a website that has all of the information on studying
abroad in Australia at Bond University. It is an informational website written by a Study
Abroad 101 staff member. The purpose of this website is to inform students the majors
that they offer at Bond University, what the minimum GPA requirement is, what the
University is about, and reviews from other students. The layout is organized neatly; the
author has pictures on the top of the page, what the University is about below, and off to
the side it has reviews. The website is easy to navigate and is organized to where students
have an easy way of finding things they need. The author includes on the page that in
2012 Bond University was the winner of the best studying abroad rankings. Included in
the about section of the page it says that Bond University is the only University in
Australia that matches up best with the United States academic calendar. The author ends
with more convincing statements on reasons to study at Bond University, saying that you
could be able to get housing on the beach.

This is an informational website about Bond University which is in Gold Coast,
Australia. The author is a credible source because he or she is giving facts about the
University and not just his or her own opinions. The author is a staff member of the
website so the author is paid to write factual information. The structure of this website is
that it has pictures of other students at the University studying abroad on the top, below is
information about the University, off to the side is a list of majors offered. The website
also provides a link to Bond University to give people more information about the
University and how to study abroad there. I like that the author includes reviews from
other students that have studied their and their opinions. In my opinion it helps to see
from a students perspective that has done the same program of studying abroad and what
their thoughts were.

Johnson, Devan. "10 Benefits to Studying Abroad | Study Abroad Guide." International
Student. Envisage International Corporation, n.d. Web. 29 Mar. 2015.
This article is about the benefits that students get while studying abroad, the
author of this article is Devan Johnson. This website is a blog which gives students the
information they need to study abroad. The purpose is to help students make their
international trip successful and worthwhile. The way the article is laid out is in steps
from one to ten, step one being the number one reason why students should study abroad.
In each step the author explains the importance of the step and provides links that will
guide the reader in the right path. Even though this is blog website and the author has her
own option as to the benefits to studying abroad, she backs it up with reliable websites
that will further the readers thoughts. Johnson also provides links to other blogs that talks

about how traveling abroad is more than just an academic experience, ways to get money
for the trip, and ways that you can keep in touch with friends and family. The author
concludes at the end of her article that students should study now while they can and to
take it as an experience to visit new places.
The website, International student is an article source run by a company that helps
students learn about studying abroad. The author is a credible source because not only
does Johnson give her opinions on the benefits the studying abroad, she provides links
and proof of the benefits. The structure of the article is numbered one through ten and
under each step is a paragraph explaining the benefit. The author organizes her
information by having the steps in a bold and larger text than the paragraph. By doing this
it draws the readers attention to the steps more and then the reader might go back and
read the information under the steps. Johnson ends her article with advice saying to take
the opportunity to study abroad now with no commitments other than to learn about a
new culture.

Orahood, Tammy, Larisa Kruze, and Denise E. Pearson. "The Impact of Study Abroad on
Business Student's Career Goals." (n.d.): n. pag. 2004. Web. 29 Mar. 2015.
After researching the benefits, I looked up the benefits for why business students
should study abroad since that is what I am majoring in. The authors of this paper are
Tammy Orahood, Larisa Kruze, and Denise Easley Pearson; who are all professors at
different Universities. The purpose of this paper is to inform business students on the
benefits that they get if they study abroad. The paper is organized by having a few
paragraphs under each heading. The headings include the programs offered at different

Universities, researching business education while studying abroad, career development,
and the conclusion. In this paper the authors talk about how the United States corporation
position themselves internationally, so there is a demand for employees who have a cross
cultured experience. Meaning that someone who has studied abroad would more likely be
hired than someone who has not. The authors conclusion is that business students who
have studied abroad are opened to more careers and have more skills than students who
do not study abroad.
The type of source is an online paper written by three professors. The authors are
a reliable source because they are professors at Universities and cite their sources they
use at the end of the paper. The structure of the source is written in essay format and has
subtitles. The authors present their information with having their own personal reasons as
to why business students should study abroad and then back their information up with
research methods and facts. The authors talk about how business students that study
abroad are more likely to get jobs after graduating college. The business world is growing
and there is a lot of competition for jobs, having that you studied abroad on your resume
makes you a better candidate for the job.

Parker, Lara. "12 Of The Best Places To Study Abroad." BuzzFeed. N.p., n.d. Web. 29
Mar. 2015.
Now that I knew the benefits on studying abroad and the steps I need in order to
study abroad, next I research the best places to study abroad. I found a blog that a student
wrote about where she thinks the best places to study abroad are; the author is Lara
Parker. The purpose of this blog is to list the top ten places where she thinks students

Mello, 5
should study, she lists the University, why you should go, one thing you should do while
being there, and a link to the Universitys website. Lara lists the places to study at in
chorological order, with the first place being the best place to study at. In her blog she
listed the top place to study at being Australia at Bond University. At Bond University she
gives a few sentences that explains the location being surrounded by beaches. Lara said
while at Bond University students should go to the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary. At the
Currumbin Wildlife people are allowed to go up face to face with wildlife. The author
ends her article with the last place that students should go to and says that youll never
want to come home after visiting any of the places listed above.
The source of this article is an online blog with the title being the twelve best
places to study abroad. The author is a credible source because she is an editor of the
website and not just a random blogger. Lara gives her personal experiences and links to
websites where you can get more information. She lists her steps based on the ratings she
got from a different website that has facts instead of opinions. The structure of the source
is listed in steps naming the University, providing pictures, and a short paragraph about
each place. In my opinion I like how the author had her personal experience and the
information was short and to the point. I feel that when students are looking for a place to
study they want to find information in bullet points and to the point. Another thing I liked
about her blog was that Lara listed places from all over the world and the Universities to
study at. While researching places to study at I found many places where to study, but not
what University to study at. I think that the University that you study at has a huge impact
on the student while studying abroad.

"Study Abroad in Australia." Study Abroad. Education Dynamics, n.d. Web. 24 Mar.
2015.
The author of steps to studying abroad is a staff member from the University of
North Carolina at Charlotte who is in the office of education abroad. This is an
informational article listing the steps a student would need complete before being able to
study abroad. The author states the steps in chorological order as to what the student
needs to complete first. The article gives links under each step to show where you can
complete the step or get more information on the step. Some steps that the author
includes are attend an information session, meet with an advisor, submit an application,
and develop a budget. Even though these are not all of the steps that you need to do
before traveling abroad, I think they are the most important. The advice that the author
ends with is to go abroad and have the time of your life.
This is an informational website written by a staff member at the University of
North Carolina at Charlotte. The author is a reliable source because he or she is giving
information about how students are allowed to study abroad at UNCC. The website is
listed as steps numbered one through fifteen. Since the steps are listed on UNCCs
website and have links where you can complete the steps it is reliable source. The
structure of this website is an article online giving information about how to study
abroad. The author has an organized layout and displays the steps where you need to
complete the first step in order to move onto the second step. This makes the reader able
to focus more and understand what they need to do in order for the student to study
abroad. If the steps were not listed in chorological order than it would be confusing as to
what the student needs to complete first.
