WGT: 200 EYES: BROWN HAIR: BROWN DE¥ENDANT’S ADDRESS: 6181 WEST ISOM ROAD BLOOMINGTON, INDIANA 47403, REQUESTED CHARGE(S) MURDER, 16.35-42-1-1 om April 24,2015 the Brown County Sherf's Office received 0911 Cal {tm SR eeeaecatly 8:34 AM. Meese tat she ha found a bunsn body off of lam Crevk Roed near State Road 45 in Brown County, Indiana. Deputies from the Brown County Sheriff's Departinent sponded tothe call ofa boty found at peri pion Creek Road in Brown County, Indiana, Upon the Deputies’ arival they visually ‘verified shat the body located was @ deceased female and then secured the scene, ‘The Brown County Shetit"'s Department then contacted the Indiana State Police and requested response by State Police Detectives to 5284 Pium Creek Road response ice initiated and Se police Detectives arrived at the scene at spproximately 9:27 AM on April 24,2015 “The Stale Police Evidence Technician began to process the scene, Photographs and tire molds reer. The body was that ofa white female in ber erly 20°s with long, stright black Nal ae ners ina grey sweater, black strech yous pants and black fow-top Converse Chuck Taylor shoes. “The female displayed significant trauma to her head and a substantial arnount of blood had poole ce er hechead. Blood splatter was located tothe north, west and south sies ofthe body inthe grassy area. ‘A black cell phone in a red case was located near the feet of the body. ‘As aresult of preliminary investigative procedures to identity the deceased female body and the potential owner ofthe cel phone, the recent eal istry and contacts were examined. The cel ‘phone sumber assigned to the cell phone found atthe scene (Was QU pon looking ar the recent call history and contacting those most recent contacts it was determined that the cell phone located at the scene belonged to Daniel E, Messel. Central Dispatch was also able to ‘vise that in 2012 they received a call from Daniel E, Messel from the number ASA BBB As it 959 determined that the cell phone was owned by Daniel Messe, and not apparently by the deceased female, the cell phone was placed into evidence for processing and fora Search Warrant 1a be obtain: uring the inti! attempt to identity the deceased female body by contacting the eell phone found at her feet, 2 very recent eontact named “Matt” was in gation proved that "Mat" in the contact ist of th ent contacts in contact list 1 cell phone was Matthew A Search Warrant was obtained forall digital recordings, text messages, contact list, pictures, voicemail, call records stored in th 7 ofthe vena @ memory and/or memory eard ofthe cellular phone recovered near the unidentified body. i ' ‘The Central Intelligence Uni ‘tadvised thet Daniel Messel was employed at Fine Print Printing in Bloomington, Indi Me a lana and provided otter contact information for Messe! State Police Detectives responded to Fine Print Printing to lovate Daniel Messel. Supervisors advised detectives that Messe! was absent from work that day and that was very unusual behavior for Messel; said absence from work actually having caused concems amongst somie co-workers. State Police Detective: then responded to Messel’s fast known adress of 6181 West Isom Road in Bloomington, Indiana, Upon arrival, detectives wore greeted by Gerald L. Messel, whom identified himself as the property owner and the father of Daniel Messe A Search Warrant was then obtained for the property located at 6181 West Isom Road in Bloomington, Indiana. A search was conducted and the evidence was processed. Daniel Messel ‘was not locsted at 6181 West Isom Road. ‘An interview with Daniel E. Messe father, Gerald Messe, provided that on April 23, 2014 he and Daniel went to timer at Cheddars in Bloomington, Indiana at approximately 6:00 PM. Following dinner the two retumed to their residence at 6181 West Isom Road. At approximately 8:00 PM, Daniel let the residence again to go to Yogi's Bar and Gril fr trivia with friends, as Daniel does almost every Thursday night. Gerald Messel advised that Daniel never returned hhome from Yogi's on April 23, 2015 and that was unusual behavior because he normally returns home fro playing trivia between {1:00 PM and 12:00 AM. Gerald Messel advised that he had not had contact with Daniel Messel since he left for Yogi's Bar and Grill at approximately 8:00 PM on April 23, 2015. Matthew SMBH was located at Fine Print Printing and interviewed by State Police Detect advised that he was with Daniel Messel at Yogi's Bar and Gril on the night of April 23, 2015, and that Daniel Messe] had given iis ride back home at the end of trivia at approximately 11:00 PM that same night, I made contact with Bloomington Police Department Detectives to inquire about possible Missing Persons reported during Little 500 Week on the Indinna University campus. Detective Carter advised that they had just received a report ftom some sorority females that reported thei friend ‘was missing since the night of April 23, 2015 andor the early hours of April 24, 2015. Bloomington Police Department received a report that Hannah Wilson was missing, 1» Police Department Detectives went to Hannah Wilson's sesidence and retrieved a ‘af Wilson. Detevtive Carter forwarded that photograph to me. 1 visually examined the photograph along “with the other State Police Detectives that were atthe scene of $284 Plum Creek Road in Brown Coon First Sergeant Paul Suding then forwarded the photograph of Hannah Wilson to the Brown County Coroner, Farl Piper, who responded to S784 Plum Creek Read earlier on April 24, 2013, sand pronounced that female dead. The Brown County Coroner, Earl Pipe, verified that Hannah Wilson was the deceased female focated at 5284 Plum Creek Road on the moming of April 24, 2015 Bloomington Police Department Detectives transported two female roommates and wo male friends 10 the Bloomington State Police Post #33 for interviews, As a result of those interviews, i was determined that Hannah Wilson was atthe Hifton Garden Inn in Room #101 in Bioomiagton, Indiana on the evening of Apri 23, 2015 attending a party with friends. Witnesses stated that Hannah Wilson was consuming alcobolic beverages with friends in the hotel room. At approximately 1:00 AM on April 24,2015 Wilson and her frends walked from the Hilton Garden nn to Kilroy’s Sports Bar in Bloomington, indiana. Upon arrival at Kilroy's Sports Bar, the ‘ieads determined that Hannah Wilson was too fatoxicated to enter the establishment and continue paniying with friends for Little $00 Weekend. The group discussed calling an UBER cab while standing in front of Sports Bar but a taxi then pulled upto the curb in front of Kitrey’s ‘Sports Bar. The taxi was white and green incolor. Hannah Wilson entered that taxi eab alone. The sab fare was paid in full atthe curb of Kilkoy’s Sports Bar and witnesses heard Hannah Wilson provide her address of 513 East 8° Strect in Bloomington, Indiana as her requested destination to the cab driver. ‘This isthe last time witnesses can account for Hannah Wilson’s whereabouts and well-being. State Police Detectives left 6181 West Isom Road and had begun to return to the Bloomington ‘State Police Post #33. A Search Warrant had been obtained to search the residence located at 6181 West [som Road in Bloomington, Indiana. While in transit, Indiana State Police received & ait fron dvising thar Daniel Mosse! had returned to the ‘Messel residence and was currently there. Officers of the Indiana State Police returned to 6181 West som Road and located a mate, who. identifies himself & Daniel Messel. When Troopers came into contact with Daniel Messet be ‘was walking out of the residence with a plastic garbage bag,
