Extended Inquiry Project Reflection
Your idea:
When I first created my proposal I was expecting to just find information about a
conspiracy theory and inform my audience. As I developed my project my idea of just informing
the audience changed to persuading. The reason I changed was from the fact that I found
convincing evidence that this conspiracy theory may in fact be real. The research on the
Illuminati that I found was mostly video footage or photography and it completely change the
way I think about this topic.
Your research:
My research was easy to find but tough to find something credible. Since my topic is a
conspiracy theory there are many sources out there that are ridicules and have no factual support.
After some time I did find credible sources and the information from some sources provided me
with lots of evidence and some did not. I would say that the source that provided lots of evidence
was because they used video footages that are undeniable true. On the other side some sources
did not provide much evidence and it resulted from the author writing his own opinions and not
having evidence to support it.
The effect of your research on your direction:
My research had a great effect on me. The amount of information that I found was
surprisingly more than I expected. The amount of evidence that I found was what really affected
me the most. I was shocked by the repetition of hand symbolism and lyric choice in music
videos. The amount of evidence of Illuminati symbolism in music made me narrow it down to
mostly the music industry.
The writing of your essay:
The most challenging part of this essay was writing in first person since I havent written
a paper like that in a while. I dealt with it easily after I gotten used to it. It took me about a full
page until I became comfortable writing in this style again. After completely this essay I was
relieved and happy to finish it since this was what I have been researching all semester. Honestly
the most rewarding aspect of writing this essay is learning something that I didnt know before
and changing they way I see this subject.
Your life as a researcher:
The similarity of this research project to other projects is the researching methods. With
my other research projects my teachers would make us find research just as this inquiry project.
On the other hand this research project was different because I was encouraged to include myself
in the essay. In the past I was always told not to write in first person but this research essay was
opposite.

Your life as a learner:

From doing this research project I learned a few things. Since I already knew about the
Illuminati topic I thought that there was little new information to find. After during research I
realized I was wrong, there was plenty of new information that I did not know about. I learned
about the historical side of the Illuminati and found out that the Illuminati is confirmed to be real
in the 1700s.
