Transdisciplinary Theme: Where We Are in Place and Time

Central Idea: Over time, we reflect on and change our passions, thoughts, and opinions
and develop new perspectives which helps us connect to the real world and prepare for
our future.
Youve done the research. You are all in ACTION. Now its time to start planning how to
present to the school and your families about your growth as a learner and an individual
over this unit.
Part 1 - Your individual story: 2 minutes
Past : On stage you will share about how you developed your passion throughout your
time in elementary school.
Present: Describe how you have grown as a learner over the past two months. Look at
your journals to help you remember. Think about:
What were the most interesting/surprising things you learned from your research?
What was the reason behind your action plan?
How did you take action?
What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
What were the results of your action?
What new perspectives did you develop?
How did your learning and work during your action help you connect to the real
world?
What skills, attitudes and attributes of the learner profile do you feel you
developed and demonstrated through this process?
Future:
What changes do you want to see in the future related to your passion?
How do you feel your projects have influenced your ideas about what you would
like to do in the future?
Are you planning to take your action further?
You may use visuals in a presentation such as Power Point or Prezi, or show VERY SHORT
video clips (10-20 seconds, longer should be at your station). However, there will be no
words on your slides. The images should relate to what you are talking about, but you
will not be reading the slides.

Part 2: Group Station

For your station, you want to have a display that will spark conversation. You want
people to ask you questions and share about your action.
You have the creativity to design how you want your station but remember, your
display should be CLEAR and SIMPLE. Choose TWO ways to show information. You
do not want to have a bunch of papers pasted haphazardly all over the place.
You may include:
-Your arts component : You want this to be a piece of art that provokes thinking
about your topic and action.

Music (create music using instruments, everyday objects, an app, or your

voice and record it)
Visual (2D or 3D art using a medium of choice, animation, video, creative
photography)
Drama (a skit, monologue, puppet show, storytelling video recorded)

-A creative, clear representation of important elements of your research and action

-An iPad or computer may be one of the ways that you use to display.

Everything should be neat and edited before you display it. Again, be creative!
Think about the tools you can use to share information.

Final Checklist:
____Stage presentation speech planned (with visuals if using them)
____Arts component finished
____Group station complete : Two clear, simple, and creative ways to share and get
people thinking about your topic and asking you questions.
____Practice, practice, practice!
