3.11 The student will investigate and understand different sources of
energy. Key concepts include
a) Energy from the sun;
b) Sources of renewable energy; and
c) Sources of nonrenewable energy.

Renewable resources- any natural resource that can be replenished naturally


over time.
- Nonrenewable resources- any natural resource from the Earth that exists in
limited supply and cannot be replaced if it is used up.
Knowing what nonrenewable and renewable energy is; you should be able to
classify what is a renewable energy resource and what is a nonrenewable
resource. Once you are able to classify the two groups there are have matching
cards that gives them clues about the resource and how it is used. Use the clues
to match the correct energy resources.
Once you have finished pairing them up. Turn to a clear right and left page in
your notebook. Make a T-Chart on the right side of your interactive notebook.
Write the energy resource on the left side of the page and the matching clues to
the right. On left page draw a picture of a renewable and non-renewable
resource you use. Then write a sentence or two on how could you and your
family conserves that energy?
