OBJECTIVES:
Psychomotor
1. The student will participate in a total body workout during the fitness routine portion as directed by
the instructor.
Cognitive
1. The student will perform non-locomotor skills such as crunches, jumping jacks, high knees, and
squats in a stationary position during the lesson as demonstrated by the instructor.
Affective
1. The student will demonstrate and recognize personal space and respect the personal space of others
from prior knowledge throughout the Lesson Focus as instructed.

Introductory/Warm-up Activity:
3.1- Participate in appropriate warm-up exercises for particular physical activities.
Lesson Focus:

PART 1: INTRODUCTORY/WARM-UP ACTIVITY (2-5 mins):

PART 3: LESSON FOCUS (15-20 mins):
Activity
1. Lazy Banana Grab (crunches)- Start on
your back with knees bent, feet flat on the
floor, and arms in front of you. Then lift
your upper body forward.
2. Climb Trees (high knees)- Stand in place
and lift your knees till they are waist high.
3. Catching the Fly (jumping jacks)- Start in
standing position. Then jump to a position
with legs spread, arms raised, and then
back to the original position.
4. Chest Beating (squats)- Bend your knees
and lower your body so that you are close
to your heels.
5. Jump for Banana (jump)- Push your body
up with your legs and arms raised towards
the ceiling.
6. Happy Dance!- free style creative
movement.

Teaching Hints

Remind students to perform to the best of their
ability.
Observe for students who are having difficulty
with the movements.

PART 4: CLOSING/COOL DOWN ACTIVITY (2-5 mins):

Body Cool Down:
Remain in a stationary position.
a. Standing tall, inhale deeply though nose,
exhale slowly from mouth.
Relax and breathe.
b. Lunge forward on one leg, both arms out
to the sides.
Reinforce instructions.
c. Bend from leg and stretch back leg
pressing both heels into the floor.
Encourage cool down activities.

d. Repeat with other leg.
e. Stand tall.
f. Stretch body and arms straight to the
ceiling.
g. Lower arms to the sides of the body.
h. Smoothly roll head, neck, shoulders
forward, curving down toward the floor.
i. Slowly straighten legs and straighten body.
j. Standing tall, inhale deeply through nose
and exhale slowly through the mouth.
Modifications:
Modify the length of the movements according to the needs of the students.
Modify the fitness portions as needed.
