Clinical Toxicology 2, Technician II & III


Reason for Transfer:
Change of work schedule from days to evenings.
Duties in Toxicology include:
1- Performing test analysis using multiple immunoassay techniques.
2- Performing test analysis using the Olympus AU400e & Beckman
Coulter AU5800 automated analyzers.
3- Maintaining and troubleshooting instrument and assay problems on the
aforementioned analyzers.
4- Requisitioning work lists and reconciling work center pending reports.
5- Specimen management (i.e. Retrieving specimens from the track and
manual bins. Retrieving specimens from storage. Finding missing
samples etc.).
6- Data entry of assay results and controls.
7- Management of inventory in the toxicology immunoassay area and
filing of assay work lists.
8- Requisitioning work lists, reconciling work center pending reports, and
labeling of tubes for tests performed by Technologists.
9- Setup of large Toxicology assays by use of Tecan Evo automated
dispensing system.
10- Training of new employees in my respective job duties.
11- Involved in changes in laboratory procedures when necessary and at
the direction of the Technical Supervisor.
12- Operator training on Beckman Coulter AU5800 in January 2013.

Mass Spectrometry, Technician II


Reason for transfer:
Lateral move within the department to keep my current schedule because
the technician job in C.D.A.T. was being changed to 7on/7off. My duties
in Mass Spectrometry included:
1- Requisitioning of all assay work lists and reconciling of all work
center pending reports for tests performed in the laboratory.
2- Specimen management (i.e. Retrieving specimens from the track and
manual bins. Retrieving specimens from storage. Finding missing
samples etc.).
3- Management of inventory. Reported to a technologist on the quantity
of supplies in the laboratory. Created a system for tracking the usage,
supply, and storage of all solvents and reagents in the lab.
4- Managed the filing and storage of all assay work list records.
5- Continued to perform the troubleshooting of the Olympus AU400 in
C.D.A.T.

Clinical Drug Abuse Testing, C.D.A.T., Technician I & II


Began working at A.R.U.P. after being referred by Harold Crockett. My
duties in the C.D.A.T. lab included:
1- Managed the operation and maintenance of the Olympus AU400
analyzer.
2- Perform all urine-screen testing on the Olympus AU400 analyzer.
3- Managed all specimens coming into the laboratory. (i.e. Retrieving
specimens from the manual storage bin. Retrieving specimens from
storage. Finding missing samples etc.)
4- Requisitioning of all assay work lists and reconciling of all work
center pending reports for tests performed in the laboratory.
5- Data entry of all screen assay results.
6- Setup of all confirmation testing in the laboratory. (I.e. quantitative
pipetting of samples, controls, working standards and internal
standards until California regulations prohibited quantitative pipetting
by technicians.)
7- Managed the filing and storage of all assay work list records.
8- At the request of the supervisor I created a users manual for the
Olympus AU400 that was included in the S.O.P. for screen testing in
the C.D.A.T. laboratory.
9- Helped to manage the inventory of supplies in the laboratory.
