The article Breastfeeding State laws, talks about the importance of breastfeeding and how
public health officials only promote the necessity of breastfeeding and the benefits it could bring
to both a mother and child. Because the percentage rates for mothers who breastfeed worldwide
have gone down tremendously as years go by, this article states how President Obama took care
of the situation. Due to multiple health risks that can be prevented by breastfeeding, Obama
signed a Federal Health Reform known as The Affordable Care Act. This act gives a female
employee the right to have a reasonable amount of break time to produce breast milk for their
child while working. This article goes on to explain the law itself in detail and how many states
in the country have applied and legalized the breastfeeding in public laws, including many other
countries and how they handle the situation.

and disadvantages of breastfeeding versus formulas. The article describes the steps to
successfully breastfeed while telling the audience how important it is that women knowing about
the proper ways to breastfeed a child can make it all the better. The author for the article walks
you through the multiple ways and variety of steps to help educate women about how things
including the communities around them, and skills like rooming-in can make breastfeeding a
little less feared of and more asked about. While showing both the risks and benefits they
advocate breastfeeding but ensure that a women must inform herself through the different ways
they provide in the article to be able to achieve a successful breastfeeding goal.

Breastfeeding moms protest at Target stores is about a group of women coming together
at almost every Target across the United States to protest. This article explains, once again, the
need for civil rights and being able to breastfeed in public wherever they may be. This event
occurred when a mother was caught breastfeeding in an isle and was asked to leave the store for
bringing discomfort to the public, thus the rise to a protest. The rest of the article presents percent
ratios and facts on the importance of breastfeeding, while showing the multiple interviews with
other civilians and their opinions on the entire situation.

In the newspaper article Kansas Health association Works to Improve breastfeeding In


State, we are introduced to an organization that helps with grant money funding to provide help
to mothers who need to be educated on the health benefits breastfeeding can bring to a mother
and child. The article explains that this association plans on using all of the funding for places
and other organizations that will help women rely on for breastfeeding matters. Once again,
promoting healthy babies.

The article When will U.S.A. get over breastfeeding Hang-ups, is yet another experience a
women had when breastfeeding her child in public. While trying to discretely feed her child she
was asked to leave from the restaurant Hooters, and walks us through her point of view. The
author goes on to inform us readers how the state she lives was not legalizing breastfeeding in
public at the time while present interesting facts and reasons for why it should be.

In the article by Rebecca Lane, we are presented with motherhood and how common
beliefs are implicated. The author discusses the contradictions and impacts on breastfeeding in
public when talking about a mother in Kentucky being asked to cover herself when feeding her
child in a restaurant. With this the author explains what makes a good mother, while advocating
pro-breastfeeding in public to readers.

The article by Lenari, is a medical point of view on breastfeeding. The author walks us
through the health risks some women might carry through their breast milk. In the article we are
presented with information on how some womens milk can be infected leading to a virus
causing many serious side effects to both the child and the mother. The author stresses the
importance of having women breast feed in a correct manner without having to bring viruses to a
child. The article shows that women must have sanitary surroundings because most infections are
found around the nipple area. A variety of lab results and facts are shown as well.

The purpose of the article by Marsden, Amy, and Julie Abayomi, is to show the variety of
interviews made with multiple employees while discussing their opinion on breastfeeding in
public. The article discusses the short study on nine workers with and without baby friendly

areas. When being interviewed, the point of the study is to see how well they reacted to
breastfeeding mothers in the public areas they worked, this was what each employee had to
answer to. The article then presented the results or the opinions of each interviewee.

breastfeeding can decrease the chances of a child being exposed to obesity. The authors go on to
explain the several studies that were made to prove their point in greater ways. The article
advocates pro-breastfeeding and yet again, stress the importance and the advantages breast milk
brings to a child while using analytical and scientific results and facts.
