JPN 1020
E-portfolio Assignment

Angela Pecsi

Reflection
In this class I have learned to build more complicated sentences using different
particles, nouns, verbs, and adjectives with their respective functions. I have learned
how to read Japanese formal and informal letters and how to write them as well, in the
original Japanese style, which is vertical, and in the horizontal format too. I got the skill
of counting people, which is very useful if I want to order something for many persons
in Japanese, as an example, food and drinks in a place with friends. My listening
comprehension has been sharpened when I listen continuously to the people who talk
to me in Japanese. Practicing my new skills when talking to my Japanese friends is
very helpful for me to memorize and acquire more knowledge on the language. My
experience in this class has been tougher than the previous Japanese 1010 course I
took a time ago, not only because language learning is cumulative, but because I had
to study advanced grammar. In conclusion, I consider that I had acquired a wide
knowledge in my Japanese grammar and, as a result, I can express myself more
fluently than before.
