Activity
The class watches a YouTube video about members evident within a generic
family structure. After watching the video, the children are to recall the names
we give to the members of our family (mum, dad, brother, sister, etc.).
After that, the students are to head back to their desks and draw and label the
members of their family, which they live with. Once this is finished, the kids
are then to walk around the classroom and find a classmate who has a
different family structure from their own. Once students have paired up, the
students are then to pose questions to each other about the differences and
similarities between their families.
Once the questioning period has concluded, the teacher is to ask the student
to sit down on the carpet, as pairs. The teacher is then to call upon each pair
and have them discuss the similarities and difference to the class.
