POLYGONS
A polygon is a closed figure formed by segments.
A Quadrilateral, Parallelogram, Trapezoid, Rectangle, Rhombus,
and Square would all be a polygon because theyre all closed
figures formed by segments.
A real world example would be anything with
no rounded areas, and everything formed by
segments.

QUADRILATERALS
A quadrilateral is a four- sided polygon, and all there angles have a
sum of 360 degrees.
A trapezoid, rectangle, rhombus, and square are all quadrilaterals
because they all have 4 sides that equal up to 360 degrees.
A parallelogram is a polygon because it is a closed figure formed
by segments.
A real life example of a quadrilateral could be a
rectangular pool that has angles equaling to 360 degrees.

PARALLELOGRAMS

A parallelogram is a quadrilateral with two sets of parallel lines,

opposite sides are congruent , and opposite angles are congruent.
Consecutive angles are supplementary.
A parallelogram is a quadrilateral because it has four sides with angles
equaling 360 degrees.
A parallelogram is a polygon because it is a closed figure formed by
segments.
A rectangle, square and rhombus are parallelograms because they are
all quadrilaterals with 2 sets of parallel lines, and opposite sides and
angles are congruent, with consecutive supplementary angles.
A real life example could be an object with
2 sets of parallel sides, and have congruent
sides and angles.

TRAPEZOIDS
A trapezoid is a quadrilateral with 1 pair of parallel sides which are the
bases, non parallel sides are legs.
Legs are congruent for the Isosceles trapezoids only.
A trapezoid is a quadrilateral because it has four sides with angles
equaling 360 degrees.
A trapezoid is a polygon because it is a closed figure formed by segments.

A real world example could be a flat top

pyramid, with one pair of parallel sides which
are bases, and non parallel sides which are
legs.

RECTANGLES
A rectangle is a parallelogram, all its angles are congruent. It has
two sets of parallel lines, and opposite sides are congruent.
A rectangle is a parallelogram because they have the same
qualities.
A rectangle is a quadrilateral because it is a four-sided polygon
with angles forming 360 degrees.
A rhombus is a polygon because it is a closed figure formed by
segments.
A real world example could be an object with all congruent
angles and two sets of parallel sides.

RHOMBUS
A rhombus has two sets of parallel sides, all sides are congruent,
opposite angles are congruent, consecutive angles are congruent.
Diagonals are perpendicular and bisect each other.
A rhombus is a parallelogram because they have the same
qualities.
A rhombus is a quadrilateral because it is a four-sided polygon
with angles forming 360 degrees.
A rhombus is a polygon because it is a closed figure formed by
segments.
A real world example of a rhombus could be a sign
with 2 sets of parallel sides that are congruent.

SQUARES
A square is a parallelogram, rectangle, and rhombus. It has two sets of
parallel sides. All sides and angles are congruent.
A square is a rectangle, parallelogram and rhombus because they have
the same qualities.
A square is a quadrilateral because it is a four- sided polygon with the
angles equaling to 360 degrees.
A square is a polygon because it is a closed figure formed by segments.
A real world example of a square could be minecraft,
because the only shapes in the game are 4 sided
polygons formed by segment with all the qualities of
a parallelogram.
