More diversity, not as perfect
Tuition is far less than private schools (around 4-6 thousand)
More like reality, not perfect

Private Schools
1. Around $12,000 a year for private school tuition (even for
kindergarten), very expensive
2. Parents/families pay much more, which means they are more
likely to be involved and passionate because they are paying
much more money
3. Uniforms
4. Anyone with a lot of money could start a private school, all you
have to do is fill out one piece of paper and start the school, it is
recommended to go through other training with other
qualifications, obviously, other states have different laws
5. Able to pick and choose which students attend their school
6. Have to keep a certain grade point average
7. Excel in sports, extracurricular activities
8. Religious schools for families who want their children in a school
that educates them about that religion

in the city/county-Ron Clark Academy- in Atlanta, Georgia, students ride a blue
slide into school, teachers can visit on weekends

Public Schools
1. Traditional Public Schools: no admission criteria, provide
comprehensive education to students and support to parents
(full-service school); Do NOT pick and choose students, get all of
them
2. Magnet Schools: Have some sort of theme, have selective
enrollment/admission, attracting higher performing students,
you must apply, they take the top __% of students into their
school
3. Charter Schools: Teachers and Administrators have more control
over how to spend funds and the kinds of classes they offer;
lottery pick of students, put students in a bucket and then

pick out names, not based on grades; Pop up a LOT in lowincome areas
4. Alternative Schools: Designed for students that arent successful
in a traditional school setting; Settings are described as:
Remedial and Last Chance; If youre expelled, you go to an
alternative school, if for some reason they dont perform/act
appropriately in other school settings

Private Schools
1. Parochial Schools: Has a religious affiliation
2. Single-Gender Schools: Either all male or female; Becoming
more popular; To encourage students to perform better and
not be distracted in Co-ed Schools
3. Homeschooling: Let your school know youll be
homeschooling your child, fill out a couple papers, and
then youre good to go; You could teach only a couple if
you want
4. For-Profit Schools: Non-religious, managed by some entity
receives a % of $$$ generated
