Our rights are there for a reason, we are born with them and theyre never to be taken
away. Although reform is necessary from time to time the way to go about it is never by taking
communist action and restricting our freedoms. In the first source I shall use in my blog I read a
stance of a man who believes gun control is not the answer, but strongly believes something
needs to change. Guns are getting more and more lethal and they are ending up in the hands of
lethal and dangerous men, however these bad guys dont obey the law in the first place, so why
is changing it going to affect them at all ?
The author, Andrew Smith, is a retired Australian army brigadier, he also worked in the
North American military and security fields. As a man with much insight into guns and their
proper use he is the perfect source to take a stance and say there is a problem with improper gun
use, but no one is quite sure how to solve it. The information is from 2014 which is very recent
considering that gun control debates have been raging since the 90s. The source argues pros and
cons of gun control with other alternatives and the fact that change is needed but the right
solution isnt here yet, because of this I believe there to be no bias in the article.
America needs change but we just havent figured out the right course of action yet. We
love our freedoms and in some ways this blinds us but certainly change is possible it just doesnt
need to be as dramatic as stripping our second amendment rights. If guns are outlawed only
outlaws will have guns (pg 23 paragraph 8). This could not be a more true statement, how on
earth is disarming law abiding citizens going to stop criminals, whose guns are already obtained
illegally most likely with serial numbers scratched off and everything, going to protect America.
We need our law enforcement to be more powerful and the average citizen to be prepared for the
worst that is what will keep us safe. Because the right to bear arms is about freedoma visceral
American valueit has bipartisan renaissance.(pg 27 paragraph 6.) There is no way Americans
will agree to sacrifice the right to bear arms, there has to be another option. We will not give up
our freedoms for something that is not even going to affect the crime rates, bad people do bad
things and they dont listen, guns will be obtained for illegal use with or without new law.

A gun needs a bullet to fire, kept in low quantities and controlled this could mean one
person can only do so much damage. This to me is a pro of gun control, really its bullet control.
So now while the law to limit clips to a max of 10 capacity isnt taking hold in legislation, I
believe this is a step in the right direction. Dont limit my freedoms, but instead limit the danger
of people who abuse those freedoms. If large capacity magazines become a thing of the past for
civilian personal, than there less likely to fall into the wrong hands.

The author, Gabrielle Levy has many articles on US News and seems well respected in
her work. However looking through her other article titles it would seem she is a democrat which
would out bias in her work. The article is from Feb 6. 2015 and is titled Gun Control Advocates
Try Again On Ammo Limits.
But moving forward, large-capacity clips would be in the hands of our military and law
enforcement where they belong, not on our streets or in our schools, not in the hands of those
who dont need them and shouldnt have them. (Levy, Paragraph 4.) The idea behind this push
makes a lot of sense, I believe this is a positive move as it doesnt strip our rights, nothing
changes except only having ten bullets at a time in a mag. As a pro-gun supporter, I believe in
this legislation as the right move and support ammo limitation. As said in my first blog, America
needs change for sure, gun control is not the answer we need but ammo limits certainly may be a
huge positive move.

This chart is gun sales in the state of California. Guns are here to stay in America, lets
understand that fact. Gun sales are not on the decline due to all this havoc, crazy people are
getting more brazen and now more than ever people need protection.

J.D. Tuccille, the author is the managing editor of the website Reason.com. This could
mean there is some bias in the article, but it generally seems like it is an article of fact and
nothing more. Not much needs to be said as the chart says it all, gun sales are on the rise.
Last year, almost one million firearms were sold in the state of Californiathrough
legal, official channels that the state knows about (under-the-table transactions swell those
numbers by an inherently unknown amount). California has a population of about 39 million
people, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. So in just one year, about one gun was sold for
every 39 state residents. (Tuccille, Paragraph 3.) The worrying point here is that under the table
transactions are so expected that mentioning the realism of them is too casual. We need to
monitor them much closer to at least be able to estimate a number instead of saying it swells it by
an unknown amount.

Sometimes it is best to look at the facts of both sides and really take into account the truth
depth of this intense conversation happening in our country. In the article Pro Gun Control
Arguments vs Anti-Gun Control Arguments the author gives us a chance to do just that. This
article has no bias and expands greatly on the reasons for and against gun control.
Weve all heard the clichd definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over
and expecting a different result. Thats a pretty good description of our discussions on gun
control. (Pro Gunparagraph 2) If never a more true statement had been made, this is
something I noticed immediately in my research, its like a bunch of children arguing over
something to the point where I think everyone forgot what the main reason for reform is and just
like to argue. No guns ! Guns ! No guns ! Guns ! There has to be middle ground, there just has to
be. For the most part, the compromises between gun rights and gun control tend to be worse
than either a total gun control or no gun control at all! (Pro Gunparag. 4)
As Dave Hume put it, Reason is a slave of Passion. This is especially true when the
subject is gun control. (Pro gunparag. 7) Emotion clouds all of us in our arguments and when
it comes to American Freedoms arguing is all but pointless, as said in the article from my first
blog, Americans are blinded when it comes to freedom.

Sometimes celebritys opinions can sway the mindless followers who do everything their
idol says, but other times it can confuse and anger them. When Tim McGraw did a concert for
those lost in Sandy Hook Pro-Gun supporters were shocked believing he was in favor of gun
control. Really though, he was just doing it for those lost, as he himself is a gun owner and progun but also believes in what is right.

Shocking to me, that someone could get so upset for a memorial concert for 20 small
children who were murdered. So clouded by their beliefs pro-gun supporters didnt even think
about the fact that maybe the concert wasnt a gun control movement but actually just supporting
those lost.
As a gun owner, I support gun ownership, he told The Washington Post. I also
believe that with gun ownership comes the responsibility of education and safety most
certainly when it relates to what we value most, our children. I cant imagine anyone who
disagrees with that. The concert is meant to do something good for a community that is
recovering, McGraw added. This seems sincere enough to me, a man being hassled by his
fellow gun enthusiasts because of miscommunication, seems too crazy but it is very real.
