To whom it may concern:
As the assistant coordinator of the Intel Computer Clubhouse, I am writing in support of Bryan Garcia
from my experience with him in my program. I have known Bryan for over 5 years and over those years
he has progressed into a great leader and role model for the other clubhouse members. His leadership
has been displayed in many ways throughout the years. One example of his leadership is whenever we
held a showcase, in which we display some of the members projects to the public in hopes to promote
the program, Bryan would take the lead in talking to parents and other teens about the program.
Another example of why he is a leader, he tries to be the definitive figure in welcoming new members to
the program. Another way he displays his leadership is through his volunteering experience. In our
volunteering projects, we help out in EXPO events or public service, i.e. beach cleanup. Bryan is usually
one of the first to volunteer and get other members involved. Not only is he a leader but he is always
looking to challenge himself to be better. An example of this is through his Photoshop skills. Bryan has
progressed in his knowledge of Photoshop over the years and possesses a desire in wanting to learn
more about graphic design. Because of his skill in Photoshop, he was one of three participants to go to
the Intel Computer Clubhouse Teen Summit in 2014. Teen Summit is a biennial event where all the
clubhouses from around the world join together for a week and work on collaborative projects. When
Bryan came back from Teen Summit, he has shown tremendous progress in, not only his creativity, but
his knowledge and comfort of the program.
Along with my experience with Bryan in my program, he also shows great potential in being goal
oriented and wanting to be involved. An example of him being goal oriented, he was selected as one of
the winners for the Intel Computer Clubhouses C2C (College to Career) Scholarship. He was very
determined in completing the application process and from that he was the only winner from California.
Not only is he goal oriented, he likes to stay involved in many activities. From attending EXPO Center, he
has not only stayed involved in the clubhouse, he has been involved other programs like LA Commons
and the Summer Youth Internship program. In the Summer Youth Internship Program, teens from the
community get the opportunity to have a job experience through EXPO Center or Natural History
Museum. Bryan had the experience to work with the EXPO Centers preschool and teen camp. With LA
Commons, it is a community art program where they are given a collaborative project of a theme given.
In the program, Bryan, along with other members, created murals dealing with community health.
In closing, I hope this letter has given you a good insight of who Bryan Garcia is as a person. He
possesses many qualities that are growing each day.
Thank you for your time,

Sherard Simon
