MURRAY HELPS PASS BILLS BOLSTERING

WORKPLACE PROTECTION
Co-sponsored legislation core components of his womens equality agenda
Assemblyman Dean Murray (R,C,I-East Patchogue) proudly joined his Assembly
colleagues in passing his co-sponsored legislation strengthening workplace protection,
ensuring women are free from pregnancy discrimination, sexual harassment and
unwanted advances. These bills are key pieces of Murrays multi-point womens equality
plan to assure women receive the equal treatment under the law they have long deserved.
Im pleased that, after years of inaction and partisan politicking, were finally
enacting real womens equality measures in the Assembly, said Murray. Its unfortunate
that bills legislating decency are necessary. To me, strengthening workplace protections
and keeping people free from harassment is just common sense.
This year Ive helped pass legislation cracking down on human trafficking, made
pay equity a reality and now Ive helped strengthen workplace protections. Going
forward, I plan to continue making our state an even better place for all New Yorkers,
Murray concluded.
