Panelist Introductions and Reports


a. Annette Becherer-DSC, Employment Services Director
Shared that DSC would like to get involved with students by the time they
are juniors.
Can provide employment support to students after high school.
DSC provides volunteer opportunities to help individuals develop job
skills.
Rec/Leisure services are also available
DSC works closely with DHS to help people find a job in the community.
b. Mike BryantDHS, Rehabilitation Counselor
Helps students and young adults transition to adult life.
DHS links kids to support services that are available
Can help students in college pay for books, tuition and fees for college
Services are free.
c. Jamie StevensCommunity Choices, Employment Services Director
Provides assistance with customized employment
Provides interest/skills assessments for young adults looking for
employment
Helps students come up with realistic goals and plans for their adult lives.
d. Mary GarmanCunningham Childrens Home, Vocational Options Program
Director
Cunningham Childrens Home is opening a vocational program to out-ofschool adults
Provides customized employment to students and young adults
Assess what works and what doesnt work for individuals they work with
Provides an all encompassing educationbus training, job training,
independent living skills training.

Provide residential services in 4-8 bed settings
Works with individuals on any life skills they need.
Operate homes in Champaign County: Rantoul, St. Joseph, Philo, C-U
