Kindness Doll: Students will create a kindness doll
in their likeness. In their groups, students will
exchange their kindness dolls. When students are
prompted by the teacher, they will tear, cut and mark
the kindness dolls, representing bullying. At the end,
students will repair their own kindness dolls with tape
and glue.
Journal Reflection
After the Kindness doll activity, students will reflect on
the activity and how it made them feel. Students will
be asked to make journal entries that expresses their
feelings. Students will be given prompts to help
inspire their writing.

Creating a Poster
After students have listened to the read aloud of The
Brand New Kid, students will create an anti-bullying
posters.

Objective: After students have listened to the story entitled The Brand New
Kid, they will examine the text by answering questions in writing, and create
a poster to bring anti-bullying awareness to the school community.
Math
-CCSS.Math.Content.2.MD.D.10: Draw a picture and bar graph (with single
unit scale) to represent a data set with up to four categories. Solve simple
put-together, take apart, and compare problems using information presented
in the bar graph.
Objective: Students will compile data from real-world situations in a survey,
analyze the data with reflection questions, and construct a bar graph.
