Wejustlearnedaboutphotosynthesis,whichisaprocessthatplantsusetomake
glucoseandoxygen.Weknowthatphotosynthesishappensinthechloroplast.Nowwe
aregoingtolearnaboutanewprocesscalled
cellrespiration
.Cellrespirationhappens
inastructurecalledthe
mitochondria
.AllorganismsBOTHplants,orautotrophs,and
animals,orheterotrophsusecellrespirationtomakeenergy.Trophmeans
energy.Automeansselfandheteromeansdifferent.Autotrophscanmakefood
forenergybyitself,whileheterotrophs(youandI)needtoeatdifferentfoodstoget
