Physical Education

Philosophy

I believe the aim of physical education is to develop students in a

holistic manner that encompasses the physical, mental, social, and
emotional domains.
I will strive to help all students achieve a personalized level of physical
fitness and motor skill development as well as an appreciation for
lifetime activity.
My aim will be for students to model healthy choices and promote
healthy behaviors to others.
I believe in incorporating a variety of activities to accommodate a wide
range of student interests in addition to teaching a wide variety of
skills.
I believe physical education has the ability to make interdisciplinary
connections to ensure overall academic enhancement.
I want students to value physical education for both the physical
benefits and for the enjoyment that can be experienced through
participation.
As a physical educator, I seek to develop contributing members of
society that function well in social situations and can use problemsolving strategies in daily life.
I believe physical education supports the inclusion of all students
regardless of their physical or mental abilities.
I believe the core of physical education comes from the NASPE
