Methodology

Levelling (Fly Level)


1. Our group search the BM (Benchmark) station.
2. Once find BM station, the BM is identified by its ID number then its detail is taken from
SUG Store.
3. The first station of instrument, is set up about 30 step from BM. The staff A is place on
the BM station and the staff B is place at CP1 (Control Point 1) about 29 feet away
from level station.
4. Staff A is set as back sight and the staff B as a fore sight. Firstly, the reading of staff A
is taken as a back sight then staff B reading as a fore sight. Data was write on field
book.
5. Then the staff A is move forward to CP2 about 25 feet away from CP1. Instrument
station is set about middle line of CP1 and CP2. The staff reading on CP1 is taken as
back sight then reading of staff on CP2 is taken as fore sight. Data was write on field
book.
6. The staff A stay on the CP2, staff B on CP1 is now move to CP3 about 30 feet from CP2.
Instrument also move to a new station between CP2 and CP3. Staff on CP2 is twisted
so that the meter reading is face to a level. The staff reading on CP2 is taken as back
sight then reading of staff on CP3 is taken as fore sight. Data is write on field book.
7. Staff B stay on CP3, while staff A move to next point which is reach on TBM station.
Staff on CP3 is twisted so that the meter reading is face to a level. The staff reading
on CP3 is taken as back sight then reading of staff on TBM is taken as fore sight. Data
is write on field book.
8. From the TBM, a process 3 until 7 is repeated to another CP4, CP5, and CP6 until reach
back on BM. A loop is created because we start on the BM station then end at the same
station, BM.
