Team Horrible Bosses Constitution Proposal 2

INTRODUCTION
Our group is going to prove that a Representative Democracy with the function of a
Constitutional Democracy is what works best for governing the people. John Adams,
Thoughts on Government is our strongest source by far. But with the help of two
selections written by novelist and philosopher, Ayn Rand, we can back up our claims with what
Adams and Rand claim giving our Constitution plenty of support. In order to ensure our teams
success, we have assigned designated parts for each group member as well as a deadline to get
things done. Not meeting the deadline could result in a deduction of a certain percentage off of
the group effort, otherwise a complete drop.
CONSTITUTION WRITING TASKS OVERVIEW
Our plans for developing and writing our constitution will be outlined in the following, with each
assigned to a different member.
Preamble
Our preamble will be different than the U.S. Constitution because our goals will be different. We
will want and state different things in our preamble than the U.S. wants. It will be similar in the
fact that we will have our goals in the preamble.
Legislative Branch
Our legislative branch will be made up of a certain numbered council. Typically to have one
member from each party to represent their partys beliefs and values and then that council will
vote and majority will rule. The few that hold these positions will need to be highly qualified in
their field of study as well as certain qualifications outside of their studies.
Executive Branch
Our executive branch will have one person in power just like the U.S. does. He will be in power
of the country but with limitations. There will be many different qualifications to become
president. He will need to be of certain age, have a certain level of education, must be a citizen,
have no history of crime, but can run for only a certain number of terms.
Judicial Branch
There will be a few differentials from the Judicial Branch of The United States, and members
will be chosen by the president then confirmed by the Senate. But this operation is not entirely
on point with American government. Our supreme court will have 5 members; 4 voting
members, and 1 chief judge (Chief confirmed by the people). They will also have age, education,
and crime history requirements as well.
Education System
Our ideas for our education system are to make it better than the U.S. We plan to see where the
flaws lie in Americas educations system and improve upon them. We want to be able to make
education affordable and attainable. We want to make it something that is valued and wanted.
Military Branches

Team Horrible Bosses Constitution Proposal 3

We do believe that our Constitution should include something about protecting ourselves from
outside attack. So at that we need to have some kind of masculine military, whether it be
separated into branches or one big army we will have them doing multiple different tasks such
as: border control, air control, and water control.
Healthcare System
Our healthcare will be mandatory for every citizen, but to those with insufficient funds to help
pay for it, it will be provided with the help of government taxes. Our government takes
healthcare very seriously.
Immigration System
We will absolutely allow immigration. There will be rules and regulations but they wont be
nearly as strict as the United States when it comes to time and stipulations.
Relationships Among Federal, State and Local Levels
We want the three levels to run hand in hand but starting at the local levels, giving the local
levels the advantage. With the local levels being able to address local problems, rules can be
made and then sent to the state, where the state would have to allow it for at least that local area
that had a majority rule. Then state would allow federal to know that this local area has passed
this law making it legal for that area on the federal level. Now if a local law is broken inside a
local area it would go local for jurisdiction, but if its broken in a non-local area it would go to
state jurisdiction and then if broken outside of state it would go to federal jurisdiction.
Process of Amending the Constitution
To amend the constitution the majority of the states will need to be in agreement in the change.
Our version of Congress will propose the idea based on what the people in our country decide
and from there Congress will vote to amend with a majority vote.
Amendments/Bill of Rights
We will all come up with three amendments and one person will do one extra for a total of ten.
We will use the United States Bill of Rights to base our ideas.
Other Writing Tasks
Our Comparison Analysis writing assignment will be done as a group. We will get together and
work on different sections and then when were done we will collaborate and share our work and
finalize it from there.
TEAM PROJECT MANAGEMENT
To ensure that our constitution will get done and meet the requirements, the following section
will address how we are going to divide the work and promote accountability.
Team Roles and Responsibilities
We have three total group members, with only one role assigned: Leader.

Kaimon Sansom: In our group, Ive been given a role that fits me well for this subject. By
choosing certain subjects that I found quite interested in myself, and felt that Id be more helpful
in. We all have fitted roles and interest on our group constitution that weve agreed would work
most fluently. My Task can be observed in the table below.
Sarah: I have been given different tasks based on how much work there was. We divided the
work evenly and from there I got to pick which section I wanted to complete and be responsible
for. I chose the section I thought I would have the most knowledge in and would actually be able
to complete it. My tasks that I have been assigned to are listed in the Task Responsibilities Table
below.
Eric Henry: I have been given the leadership role. Based on my audacious personality and results
of the MyPlan test, being in charge seems to work best. I dont boss things around but I ensure
things get done properly and promptly. I have been assigned to a few of the major tasks in
conducting this constitution project as well as a few smaller tasks, giving me an overall bearing
on where we stand with things.
Team Rules and Regulations
We will regulate/govern ourselves on a very democratic basis. Not extremely informal but
nowhere near formal, we will make sure decisions about the rules are made fairly and directly.
Every member has been given an equal amount of work to do, so equally we are all held
accountable for incorrect or not-done work. No one will ever take over unless needed too for
the final grade. We have downloaded an app where we can communicate basically instant
message. It allows for prompt communication, as well as knowing how far along all members are
with their parts. We have stated that not having the proper work done on time will result in a
certain percentage off the grade, but with the file sharing ability on Blackboard there should be
no reason all parts are not done on time.
