Animal Rights
There are millions of frogs, cats, fetal pigs, rats and snakes being killed for the dissection
for biology classes. Scientist says they are other ways to do dissections such computer
simulations. These policies and laws have changed because campaigns against dissection have
received a good amount of public support. They are other ways to preform dissections such as
the cell serve laboratory. Alternatives have continued to become more common states have
enacted laws that guarantee students the right to choose whether they want to dissect. Animal
right activist have joined many people to fight for animal rights. Animal rights activist counter
that any us of the animals , even if it benefits humans is immoral because it violates animals
rights. Animals right activist says that only certain animals should be tested on new medical
researches.
What they are trying to prove is that animals have the rights to live without being
threatened or hurt. 1. Using for clothing and 2. use of food and 3. for entertainment reasons.
Animals are being used for their fur and millions of them are being used in other ways of
clothing and killing animals and skinning them. This should not be a way of killing the animal
population by killing them for their fur. Animals should not be killed to be used for clothing and
decorations for humans. Certain animal populations are down because humans kill for their fur
or skin sell as merchandise. Animals are being use for not only clothing but for covers carpets

and etc. Only certain animals are being killed because certain animals sell for more says animal
rights activist. Animal rights activist have been arguing that they lower the number of animals
that are being hunted for clothing and their skin. They were also showing that they are
alternatives for the punishment on these animals. Fur farms are fun much like intensive
agricultural farms. Although these animals are healthy they are prevented from their natural
habitats. Animal rights advocates are concerned about minks treatment at the farms. The steel
jaw leg is the common trapping method, they trap approximately 150,000 in the US. Animal
right activist protest and said we rather be naked than to wear fur. They want to abolish the fur
industry, Animal right activist also want to abolish the cosmetic animal industry. Animals for fur
is being protested everyday.(Currie - McGhee)
Animals are also being used for food and their living conditions are critical . Animal are
being used for food but are being overused and killing the population of animal. The more we
eat meat the more we will continue to kill and overuse the animal population. We as animal
rights activist are arguing to lower the hunting tags on certain animals and their population.
Animals such as chickens have the lack of space that they need to grow as they need. Chickens
have critical living conditions which could cause the development of diseases. The reason
chickens develop these diseases are because they are in a cluster and cant move and walk the
proper amount to avoid these diseases. They also can not spread their wings the proper way that
they need to. This could cause food illness for companies and cost them money as well for the
farmers. Animals are being trapped and forgotten by hunters. Hunters kill deer and dont tag
them so they can kill more than they are suppose to. We should also crack down on the hunting
laws because some hunters dont tag all the animals. We as activist have also argued that the

wildlife patrol crack down on hunters. In recent years americans have become concerned with
the animals and how they are handled. The way that they are being forced on to small truck and
or shipped in small areas. Farmers place their animals on special diet to produce meat. This
could be a good thing or a bad thing it could make them healthier or kill them. People are
concerned of not only how they been treated but how they are being slaughtered. Until the late
1950s painful methods were were used to slaughter animals. (Currie - McGhee)
The humane slaughter act requires that animals be rendered unconscious before they
slaughtered. They stun the animal to kill them or to knock them out. US organic foods are going
up every year and thats what we wont as animal rights activist. Animals are being trapped for
food and sometimes the hunters are forgetting to go check the trap. This causes animals to be
killed and suffer because some hunter forgets to check their trap.

Animals are being used for

entertainment reasons. We as people think that animals perform great because of their size and
their just animals. Owners dont think so animals beat them because they are not perfect. Why
would any one wont to get beaten for doing good or bad. Although these animals are huge when
they get beat they it still hurts because the owners know their week spots. Animals that are being
harmed but the trainers dont realize the the animals could hurt them. So when the animals do
attack, people looks at them and thinks they are killers but their only trying to protect their
selves . Animals are being forced to perform these silly ticks and acts or else they get punished.
They are being forced to live in cramped boxed trucks. They are chained up all the time and
have to freedom to rome around. They have terrible living conditions that are bad on their
bodies. These animals are chosen from the wild and trained to perform these shows. They are
separated from their original families. Which could cause them to put up a fight before they

realize that their are not going back to their families. These animals become lonely over time
because dont have and other friends or family to play with. These animals are paying to live and
dont get treated for what they do. When transferring animals from the wild can cause stress on
them. Which could cause health problems and cause them to die or even become sick. Some
trainers beat their animals so bad they end of killing them or severally hurting them. (Currie McGhee)
Animals should be tested before humans but their should be a certain amount that should
only be tested on a animal. Animal testing is the best way but their should be rules and
regulations to animals testing. According to Humane Society International, animals used in
experiments are commonly subjected to force feeding, forced inhalation, food and water
deprivation, prolonged periods of physical restraint, the infliction of burns and other wounds to
study the healing process, the infliction of pain to study its effects and remedies, and "killing by
carbon dioxide 3asphyxiation, neck-breaking, decapitation. Their are other alternatives to animal
testing these method are ways to cut down the numbers of animals that are being tested. Artificial
human skin, such as the commercially available products EpiDerm and ThinCert, is made from
sheets of human skin cells grown in test tubes or plastic wells and can produce more useful
results than testing chemicals on animal skin. Animal tests may mislead researchers into ignoring
potential cures and treatments.Some chemicals that are harmful to animals prove valuable when
used by humans. Some animal testing are not even protected by the Animal welfare act . The
AWA does not cover rats, mice, fish and birds, which comprise around 95% of the animals used
in research. These are the animals that are mostly used for testing. Animal testing does not
reliably predict the results on humans. 94% of drugs that pass animal tests fail in human clinical

trials. Animal tests are more expensive than alternative methods and are a waste of government
research dollars. Humane Society International compared a variety of animal tests with their in
vitro counterparts. For and example A rat phototoxicity test costs $11,500, whereas the nonanimal equivalent costs $1,300. So why should we waste money on testing thats not as accurate
and not as proving as it suppose to be. Although these animals are being tested for humans
animals also suffer just as much as humans. (Currie - McGhee)
Although animals are harmed in many different ways they are still some good to what
these farmers, fur makers, and entertainment animals do for the human society. Animal testing is
necessary for testing new drugs. Animals themselves benefit from the results of animal testing.
For and example if vaccines were not tested on animals, millions of animals would have died
from rabies, distemper, feline leukemia, infectious hepatitis virus, tetanus, anthrax, and canine
parvo virus. Although animals may not have the best living conditions farmers still seem to
produce good lean meat for humans. Even though animals live in fur factors they are healthy. If
you dont test them then humans will suffer if the new innovation does not react correct.
Although animals may not get treated well they still perform amazing stunts and tricks. Animals
that are taken from the wild and trained for movies are dangerous but can do amazing things.
Humans do have rights for hunting and trapping so the animal dont get killed off. Animals are in
bad housing but are fed and kept healthy. Animal rights activist have been pushing for better
lives for animals. By passing these laws they have had campaigns for more rules and for better
lives for animals. Farmers have to take several class to practice safety.

Animals that are used

for food are being slaughter. Most animals dont know what it is to live free or of a farm.

Animals are physically messed up because they are being abused. Sometimes animals that are
abuse will end up acting wild and may cause serious damage to others. So by giving animals
their rights we will have less problems. Animals will be less likely to attack less aggressive. The
animals will feel better be happier and wont have any stress. Animals do have rights.
