Performance Enhancing Substances

Should athletes be allowed to take Performance Enhancing Substances? Do they

take away the motto that you have work hard for what you want? Are they worth taking
even with the numerous amounts of side effects that are proven will and have happened
to athletes? Why are they such a big deal, and are they worth taking with the possibility
of been caught and having it end your athletic career? Yes Performance Enhancing
Substances are considered breaking the rules and no athlete should not be allowed to use
them for these following reasons.

Using/Taking Performance Enhancing Substances is without a doubt cheating.

Performance Enhancing Substances are a very simple way to end your athletic career (if
you are caught) but also a faster/easier way for you to become faster, stronger, and better
at that certain sport. That is why they are considered cheating because for the people who
use them, all they have to do is take the substances and let the substance take care of what
they need it to, and also train but do not need to work nearly as hard as for other athletes
who are not using them. Its not fair for the others (Athletes) who have never used them
and have to actually work hard to get to get to that point in their career where they are
able to run faster, jump higher, and lift more weight (Steroids: Just The Facts).

Performance Enhancing Substances arent only known for helping cheat athletes
to success and to also help shorten the time of developing skill. They are also known for
the dangerous side effects that come with taking them. Some of these side effects include
Shrunken Testicles, Infertility, Impotence, Severe Tendinitis, Aggressive behaviors, and
many Heart problems (Why Steroids Are Bad For You). Athletes are giving
themselves substances that will end up hurting them later on for fame that will only last
them not even a third of their life.

Arnold Schwarzenegger a.k.a Mr. Universe, or The Governator had won many
gold medals in the Olympics but had them all taken away because he was tested and
found positive for using Performance Enhancing Substances. Alex Rodriguez has been
suspended other times for being found guilty of using them as well and is presently not
allowed to play for 162 game(Alex Rodriguez suspended for entire 2014 season) .
Overall He has missed equivalently two and a half seasons. Barry Bonds broke many
home run records including Babe Ruths but was caught using Performance Substances.
So instead of being known as Barry Bonds the legend, he will be known as a hated player
who cheated his way to the home run record. He then stopped playing and quit after that
season. Performance Enhancing substances can and will ruin athletic careers.

An athlete using Performance Enhancing Substances should not be allowed to
play any more games of the sport they play after being caught with them. After using
these substances they obtain skills that they have not worked for which gives them fame.
Players who use them and known as the greatest ever but in reality they have just
cheated their way to being better than they ever could. This is why they are banned in
every sport. An athlete should not be able to take Performance Enhancing Substances,
and risk his/her career and also put their health on the line.
