Title of Artifact: Activity Tracking Presentation
Date Completed: May 7, 2015

Describe Artifact:
My artifact is my presentation on tracking devices. For my presentation my team and I had to
research a variety of heart rate monitors and do an in-depth comparison of each product. My
team and I then had to develop a final decision on what device we thought was the best overall
product for our students and explain why. During this presentation we also used Kahoot, which is
an online survey, and created a Powtoon video which helped my team and I receive feedback.
UW-Platteville Health Promotion Standard Alignment:
The health promotion standard that this artifact aligns with is Standard 3: Professional
Knowledge: This artifact aligns with this standard because I was able to do in-depth research on
a variety of heart rate monitors and compare and contrast them to decide what heart rate monitor
would best fit my students. I was able to decide what heart rate monitor based on the functions
and prices of the heart rate monitors and if my students would benefit from the product. This
experience has allowed me to create a learning environment for my students and in the
demonstration of my knowledge of these products through our smart board presentation, Kahoot
survey, and Powtoon video.
UW-Platteville School of Health/Education Knowledge, Skill, Disposition Statement Alignment:
My artifact aligns with KSD4.e. Grows and develops professionally: I chose this KSD because
from this experience I was able to further improve my skills in technology in an educational
setting while improving my knowledge in hear rate monitors. This experience has allowed me to
improve my skills and communication as an educator as well as being able to assist other
educators in teaching. From this experience I have improved many skills that will benefit me in
being a successful health promoter/educator.
What you learned about Health Promotion from this experience:
From this experience I learned that as a health promoter you need to be able to be knowledgeable
in health but also in technology. Prior to this experience I was not very tech savvy or
knowledgeable in technology. This experience was eye opening for me in allowing me to see all
the different instruments that can help benefit me as a health promoter/ educator and my
clients/students.
Explain what you learned about yourself as a prospective Health Promotion specialist as a result
of this experience:

From this experience I learned how behind I was in technology in the health field. I was not
educated on very many health products that can benefit me as a trainer and my clients pertaining
to technology. Form this experience, I will now be able to implement and use more technology in
my planning, training, and educating of workouts and information of my clients.
