Client Company:

Inc.

Target
Consumer:

High school soccer and lacrosse

coaches, the YMCA, and arenas where
junior and unofficial games of soccer,
lacrosse, hockey, and other sports
where nets are necessary.

Problem
Statement:

A goal is a necessary item for a variety

of sports. In practice and
nonprofessional games, it is often
difficult to keep track of goals, and when
one is scored, when there are so many
other things that have to be kept track
of.

Design
Statement:

We must create a soccer goal that has a

light blink for 10 seconds when the
soccer ball goes through it, and does
nothing when the goalie goes through it.

Constraints:

The soccer goal must not cost a

significant amount more than the
average design for it, it must be stable,
and not fall over or apart at first
contact, and it must be able to tell the
difference between the goalie and the
soccer ball, in order to have it light up
when the ball goes through, and do
nothing when the goalie goes through.
