A Reflection on Education Class
Teachers are certainly a big part of our world today, becoming an educator for me is an
important part of my life. I want to have a lasting impact on students with their education and
watch them learn and grow with knowledge. In my classroom I will strive to make students feel
important, supported and comfortable. The moment students walk into class I want them to feel
that they are ready to learn something new that will help through their path through life. I feel
that my experience in this class has definitely exposed me to information I wasnt fully aware of
and subject matter that I can use within my classroom.
The observation hours that I got to do at Chisum Elementary for third grade opened my
eyes even more to why I am pursuing the education field. I feel that watching how the teacher
interacted with the students and how the students participated with the teacher in class was
definitely putting my brain to use on how it will be in my classroom. I observed how well her
classroom pertained to what was being taught for the third grade class. The desks in the
classroom were all facing each other so that it is more of a group effort and no one feels left out.
I do feel that after observing within the classroom it has made me even more anxious to become
a teacher. The subjects we went over in class helped me recognize the things that are important in
a classroom.

My classroom will use all the steps and procedures we have went over in class such as
having group discussions and group help for students. I will make sure no one feels left out and
the students all feel that it is ok to participate and ask questions. I believe that as a teacher we
should strive to accomplish as much as possible in our classrooms. I have learned a lot within the
education class and feel better equipped to handle situations that arise in classrooms. I know I
have a lot head of me but I am fully prepared to continue to improve continually to help students
get to where they need to be. I do feel that observing helped me tremendously just watching the
teacher and how she is within her classroom and how the students respond gives me more
understanding on how the classroom environment is. Education is the most powerful weapon
which you can use to change the world (Mandela, Nelson). I completely agree with this quote,
students can use education to further their career and it also can be a life lesson. As I further
myself in my career path I will also use this education process to help students understand how
important an education is.
