Domestic violence
One of the most important issues affecting the world is domestic
violence. Domestic
violence and abuse can happen to anyone. Yet the problem is often
overlooked, excused, or
denied. This is especially true when the abuse is psychological, rather than
physical. Noticing
and acknowledging the signs of an abusive relationship are the first step to
ending it. No one
should live in fear of the person they love. That is not fair and it is not right
at all.
What is domestic violence? Domestic violence is a pattern of
behavior used to establish power and control over another person through
fear, which contains the use of violence and threat. Who is most likely to
become a victim of domestic violence? This can happen to anyone,
regardless of gender, race, ethnicity and all. Not just women become victims
of domestic violence but men also. But majority of the times the women are

the victims. How many men are domestic violence victims? According to
research, men are victims of nearly s million physical assaults in the USA.
Domestic violence is a serious issue. Some cases are more
serious than others. Some cases end up with the person put in jail, while
other cases the person end up hurt or dead. Sad to say but its the truth.
Domestic violence is a very scary situation to be in. and some women are too
afraid to leave or get help. When dealing with someone who is threating your
life you should get help immediately. Dont listen when your significant other
when he/she says I am sorry, or I will never do it again. Once they start
they will never stop. Thats just their way to get the person back.
A domestic violence case that was talked about all over the
world was the American football running back for the ravens Ray Rice. Ray
Rice was seen on camera punching his then-fiance now wife Janay Rice. He
physically hit her like man punched her. But she forgave him and stayed by
his said every step of the way. I am not saying that you cannot forgive your
loved one but it is so much you should take from someone.
Most couples in relationships have their ups and downs, almost
all couples argue now and then. But violence is different from relationship
problems. Domestic violence usually starts with threats and name calling
things in that nature. This can start to build up to slapping, pushing and
other violent acts. Signs of a victim of domestic violence are low self-esteem,

talking about suicide, being apologetic and or having a drug or alcohol

abuse.
Domestic violence affects children the most. They are the ones
who are really suffering from domestic violence. Who would want to see their
dad hurting their mom? No one. The website nctsn.org says:
Children experience domestic violence in many ways. They may hear
one parent threaten

or demean the other, or see a parent

who is angry or afraid. They may see or hear one parent physically hurt the
other and cause injuries or destroy property. Children may live with the fear
that something will happen again. They may even be the targets of abuse.
Sometimes there is really no way out of domestic violence. The
person who is doing all the threaten, beating and name calling is usually
insecure or is really jealous. Marano says, We focus on bringing someone
else down when we are angry. The only problem is, that never brings us up.
I believe that is so true.
