Chief Engineer (Highways), Construction & Maintenance, Chennai-5, Letter No.3775 /Contracts-1/2013, Dated: 31.05.2013 The committee for Schedule of Rates has approved the Schedule of Rates for the year 2013-14 as below with effect from 01.06.2013, Rates for Labous ‘The rates of labour pertaining to Highways Department for the year 2018-14 are increased at the average rate of 24.85% over that for the year 2012-18 schedule of rates approved by Highways Department for the category of Mazdoor-I, Mazdoor-Il, Head Mazdoor, Bitumen Heat Master Operator, Bitumen sprayer man, Bitumen raker man and Mini Hot Mix Plant Operator and rounded off to the nearest one rupee as shown in Annexure-L Rates for IRC Metals: ‘The rates of IRC metals pertaining to Highways Department for the year 2013-14 are increased at an average rate of 9.91% over that for the year 2012-13 schedule of rates approved by Highways Department and rounded off to the nearest one rupee as shown in Annexure-I,Conveyance Charges : ‘The conveyance charges approved by the Public Works Department are being adopted every year and the same conveyance table approved by the Public Works Department for 2013-14 will be followed by Highways Department also. General Conditions : ‘The General note applicable to Highways Department has been appended and the General note in Public Works Department Schedule of Rates for the year 2013-14 has algo to be followed. ‘The present Schedule of Rates consisting of Labour Rate, IRC Metal Cost exclusively for Highways as in Annexures and Conveyance Table will come in to force with effect from 01.06.2013. The Schedule of Rates for the year 2013-14 approved by the ‘committee is herewith forwarded to all the Chief Engineers / Superintending Engineers / Divisional Engineers including Special. For Bridge end other structure, the rates of Mazdoor provided in Public Works Department Schedule of Rates shall be adopted, ‘The cost of various sizes of IRC metal includes incidental charges, loading ‘and unloading charges. Hence, no separate incidental charges, loading and unloading charges shall be allowed for the above materials. For conveyance, Public Works Department conveyance table shall be followed. }. For all other items not covered in the Highways Department Schedule of Rates, the provisions made in the Public Works Department Schedule of Rates will apply. ‘The General Note incorporated in Public Works Department Schedule of Rates will be applicable to Highways Department Schedule of Rates also, ‘The conveyance table provided in Public Works Department Schedule of Rates for the materials shall be followed. ‘The rate for conveyance of bitumen shall be as per the rates concluded by the oil companies. For night work in all Corporation and Municipal area an extra 15 % over rate of labour charges may be allowed (Note: This extra 15% is applicable to only items of works which could necessarily be carried out during night with appropriate clause incorporated in the tender document) toe pine foe alls alle aie
