Nu Flow Relines Copper Pipe System with 1000 Connections

Nu Flow Florida was contracted to renew a failing domestic water system at Lakeside Village Condominiums. The
Nu Line Epoxy Barrier Coating was used to restore the system and prevent future problems.
Customer and Site:
Lakeside
Village
Condominiums are residential condos located
in Lakeland, Florida. The two-building complex
was built in 1975 and has a total of 60 units.
System: The domestic water system is made
up of copper pipes with approximately 1000
connections. The pipes are located under
slabs, walls and ceilings.
Situation: The age of the buildings had a lot
to do with the pipe failures that kept occurring.
Lakeside Village Condominiums is 40 years
old so the water corrosion and decay of the
pipes was something that needed to be fixed
immediately. Metal piping systems begin to
deteriorate from the moment they are put into
service.
Solution: Lakeside Village Condominiums
needed a solution that would provide minimal
disruption for its residents. Nu Flow was able
to provide the Nu Line Epoxy Barrier Coating
solution with minimal destruction while
accessing slab leaks.

Nu Line is used not only as a long-term solution

to prevent corrosion and leaks, but is commonly
used as a preventative tool to preserve the life of
existing piping systems.

The Nu Line process begins by mapping out the pipe system followed by drying the system with heated, compressed
air. A safe abrading agent is blown through the pipe system, removing rust and corrosion by-products that are
collected in a holding unit for disposal. Compressed air is applied once again to remove fine particles.
When the pipe system is ready for lining, conditioned air is then introduced into the pipe to uniformly distribute
the epoxy coating throughout the pipe segment. Following the coating application, continuous controlled air flows
through the piping to facilitate epoxy curing. After the epoxy coating cures, valves and couplings are refitted. A
final leak test and inspection confirms lining integrity. Final water quality, volume and flow tests confirm the system
functionality.
Nu Line is used not only as a long-term solution to prevent corrosion and leaks, but is commonly used as a
preventative tool to preserve the life of existing piping systems.
