Recall information from previous lesson and clearly articulate the beginnings of the catholic church in Australia, including the role of
Sammy Marden, the role of the Irish and the persecution of a minority religion
Define Free, Secular and Compulsory and the meaning of these three words on education in 1872 and the present
Appreciate the unique nature of a catholic education
Argue for an against a secular education
Appreciate the role religious groups (brothers, lay, sisters, dioceses etc) have played in shaping catholic education of Australia
Be able to explain how we have both a state and independent system of education is Australia.
