1. A flight is to be made from Minkebe to Thirond with Welland as alternate. Route details
are given in appendix A and forecast w/v & temp in app. B ,a/c details and other inst are
given below :

Oil capacity ( specific gravity) 191 gallon
Climb: climb to 15000 ft den alt
Cruise: cruise at 15000ft till wt reduces to cruise at 20000 ft thereafter cruise at 20000 ft.
Descent: descent at 700/min to 1500 ft at destination TAS & fuel consumption same as
15000ft alt.
Alternate: plan the flight to alternate at 15000ft ignore climb & descent. Temp & w/v for the
region are 030/20 & +8^c
Airfield data: permissible t/o wt 125000 lbs
Fuel req:
( I ) 550 lbs for taxying, t/o & initial climb to 1000 ft.
( II ) fuel for climb, cruise & descent to destination
(III) fuel for destination to alternate
(IV) 71/2 % of ii & iii above.
(V)
Sufficient for holding for 01:30 min. fuel consumption 2100 lbs/hr
