PREFACE
RASTRIYA MADHYAMIKA SHIKSHANA
ABHIYANA 2009-2017 know that Education is for life
and not for livelihood so RMSA is the unique plan to
progress the high school Education After success of Sarva
Shiksha Abhiyana. The Government impressed and thinks
about carryout the Madhyamika Shikshana Abhiyana The
high school will certainly develop and

progress by this

yojana . In this view Rashtriya Madhyamik Shikshan Abhiyan


is really an effective program to enrich the high school
education. The program includes providing all the necessary
primary needs. Surely this will help in giving a standard
level of education.
A team of all the subject teachers led by a
head master has been striving hard in this regards. the
SDMC with the cooperation of the prominent people of the
locality has been trying its best to develop the school to its
full extent. yet the school lacks certain infrastructure which
it hopes to fulfil in coming days with the support of RMSA
plans.

meals, bycical distribution and other programmes.
We can see the free project activities that the programs
before going to planning. Thats in the forth chapter.

INTRODUCTION
SCHOOL BACKGROUND
Government High school Chittur, This school was
opened in the academic year 2003-04. It is an independent
High school at present But before that it has passed some
stages.
Initiolly the school was an Upgraded school with
GHPS Chittur There was 1 to 7th that Classes in GHPS and
the 8th one combined and became the Upgraded school.
This Like conversion of GHPS

happened in the academic

year 2003-04. The school started on 21:07:2003.


The same academic year the Government High
school started independently and the GHPS remains 1 to 7 th
as before. Initially the GHS Chittur had only 8 th class with 35
students and there was only one Teacher. The next

academic year that was in 2004 and 2005 both 8 th and 9th
classes had 51 and 37 students respectively.

The number of Teacher also increased Further


it became three classes 8th,9th,and 10th in 2005-06 with total
strength of 169.
The tourning point was that High school converted in to
Government composite high school Chittur in the academic
year 2007-08, it had 1 to 10 th standards with two sections of
primary and high school There were 5 teachers in primary
section and 6 in high school section. The entire educational
programs went successfully.
But The composite High school Dropped, it run only
two years. academic year 2009-10 again the school acting
as Government High school Chittur independently having
8th, 9th, and 10th classes.
At present there are three buildings one is NABARD
plan

with

rooms,

2nd

one

is

MALANADU

PRADESHABHIRUDDI MANDALI scheme two rooms and third


one is RIDF plan 13th and 14th scheme three rooms. Totally
now has own building of 8 rooms. Now The school worked

school work for student with dedication, determination and


child oriented Education.

GEOGRAPHICAL BACKGROUND
The GHS situated at Chittur in sorab taluk of
shivamogga district. The Chittur a cultured village needs of
school because essential for the students. The village
Chittur situated at the border of sorab taluk and is near to
shikaripura taluk. Itss a place of half hill region. Average
temperate Zone it has. It has the Maximum temperature 36 0
C in summer in winter 100 C.

The soil here is black and red its very much


suitable for growing paddy, cotton, Areca nut, Ground nut
etc. the rain comes seasonally. The people depend upon the
rain and also they had dry farming. The one big reservoir is
the only source of water for Chittur 500 acre farm get live
from this reservoir.

Once upon time the dence forest was there but now
converted into dry lands. The trees here growing are honne,

Nandi, Teak, Matti, Hunalu etc, and some bushes and shrubs
are there in Chittur.

HISTIRICAL BACKGROUND
When we see the historical background of
Chittur. The local inscriptions give information all about.
The king Chattarasa lived and ruled this area in 9 th
or 10th century He made this chittur as big capital It was
calling Chattarasapura in his period that continues with a
slight change and now we Know it as chittur.
The king Chattarasa built some forts around the
village to protect his kingdom and now we can see its ruins,
To the north of the chittur there was a big reservoir built
about 10 acres . this may his idea to strike the enemies
attack from northern side and also the idea of welfare as it
provides irrigation for 500 acre farm. The king gave
encouragement to religious beliefs . He was the devotee of
god he gave importance for worshipping . there are 3
beautiful temples we can see today they were built in his
period of 10th century they are

Sri Hala siddeswar
Sri Narayanaswamy.
Thes temples are reconstructed recently.

The chittur is a big village here the Total
strength of people almost more than 1000 according
to the census we can classify like below.

FREE TEXT BOOK FACILITY


The state Government has providing the free text
books facilities for the students. Our school also obtained this
facility. Government has supplied free text books for all classes not
considering the casts and status. Students are beneficiaries, the
main aim of government is to bring up quality among the children
and shed down the load to the parents.

Uniforms are being supplied by the Government
for all the students irrespective of cast and economical status to
maintain quality. Since 2012-13 second set uniforms for the 8 th std.
Students are being given on the cast of 200/- per set. It is very
useful for the students to wear the uniform regularly even in rainy
season.

FREE BICYCLE
It is one of the remarkable programme of the
Karnataka govt for the 8th class students . it is very usefull for
rural area students to maintain regular attendance.

AKSHARA DASOHA (MID DAY MEALS)


Mid day meal service is an excellent programme
which could help the students to be active throughout a day. All the
students of our school are the beneficiary. The admission and
attendance of the students were increasing in all schools as our
school.

DHYANCHANA SPORTS CLUB


Many sports activities have been conducted. Groups
,Games, Athletics, Indoor and Outdoor games are being trained by
the physical education teacher grade-1.

level sports through the department
KARATE
Physical education teacher has got 13days
training to train karate for girls, and also karate specialist
(Blackbelt) used to come and train girls twice in a week at the
beginning. This programme really appreciable because
students are in secured due to their gender issue. If they learn
techniques for self protection they will survive in any
circumstances. 82 girls are taking benefit of this opportunity
and they are very happy to learn.

DHATHRI ECO CLUB


We have DHATHRI ECO CLUB, it was established
in the year 2004-05 for the activities financial support is
being given by RMSA. Science teacher is in charge of this club.

Activities taken up were discussions awareness programmes,


camps, rallies, plantations, cleanliness, speech compitations on
topic. Global warming causes and effects, environment
pollution etc,. and other environment awareness programmes
etc,

Prathibha Karanji & cultural


Students are selected at the school level
competitions to participate at the talents level and district
level. This programme is very helpful to expose their children
talent to draw at and bring up this talent Prathibha Karanji
plays a major role in academic section.

Govt. has been encouraging the students by giving
them

scholarships.

the

beneficiaries. Our students get use of this. they obtained from


the starting academic year. Below statistics shown this

counseling centre.
The centre was opened during 2012-13
the
activities. Students will be informed about the various career
opportunities in educational, vocational different jobs that they can
attain after the completion of SSLC. Guests are invited to give
guidance of available opportunities in their departments. Specially
trained teacher guides them for competitive exams. Students, who
have exam fear, learning problems, problem of adjustment at the
school etc,. are being personally councelled by the teacher.

HEALTH PROGRAMMES
Free health checkup twice in a year, weekly once Ferrous
sulphate and Folic acid, Albendezole for once in a six months, milk for 3
days weekly.
