The video states why this right is important. Get the students to repeat some of the
reasons for the importance of this right

1. Show this video on Childrens rights to play - Tell the students that this is an example of how
to promote a childs right
2. Discuss with students that they will be working together to promote both their rights.
3. In 6 lines students must create reasons to promote their rights.
- Explain to your government why your rights are most important
4. Put students in groups of 4 (2x Rights in each group)

- In your group you must allocate a scribe and a speaker


- Make your points in your sentence strong so they stand out from everyone elses
- Students must argue their point with reasons and examples (Remember you are taking these
rights to your government and explaining to them why it is important)

Each groups nominated speaker will stand in front of the class and try to persuade the
listeners and the government of the importance in applying this right

The first class worked well in their groups and seemed more engaged. Where as the
second group were a touch off topic and mucking around
The lesson content proved to be engaging yet the second group were a touch restless
when it came to doing the actual thinking
