of the AfricanAmericans.
It originated from
slaves who worked
on the plantations
of southern USA
and who sang
about their feelings
and problems.

 Rhythms and
melodies
were brought
by slaves
from Africa on
slave ships.
Many blues
songs are
about the
struggle of
slavery.
