Assignment Four
Polynesian Expansion Across the Pacific (c. 700 1756CE)
Overview
This assessment task requires you to develop an explanation about how
the Polynesians spread across the Pacific and what happened to the
people that settled on Easter Island.
Task
In developing your response you will be required to:

Make reference to different interpretations

Distinguish between fact and opinion
Use evidence to support your explanations
Use historical terms and concepts

Presentation:
This assignment is to be completed as a written response of 600 words (+
or - 10%). There is an option for students to complete this task using a
narrated power point presentation or other digital format. This must be
negotiated with the teacher before submitting.
Grading
Final work will be marked against the assessment rubric.

A full reference list must be provided with your essay. In text referencing is
also required.
