United States where we are allowed to own guns.

Germany has a multi-party system.
Their government has two major parties, which are

the Social Democratic Party of Germany and the


Christian Democratic Union.
The United States also has a multi-party system
The Democratic party and the Republican party are
the two main parties of the United States.

Social Democratic Party of Germany


According to the party platform, freedom, justice, and

social solidarity, form the basis of social democracy.


Aims at ensuring global peace by balancing global interests
with democratic means.
This party shares a lot of characteristics with the
Democratic party United States.

Christian Democratic Union


Supports a free-market economy and social welfare programs.
Conservative on social issues.
Emerged from the Third Reich.
Germanys most successful political party.
Was founded in 1945 by a group of former Weimar Republic.
This Party shares a lot of the same characteristics with the

Republic party of the United States.

Comparison of Voting and


Qualifications.
The legal age for voting in Germany is 18, like the United States.
Exception of municipal elections where 16-year-olds can vote in

Germany.
Resident for at least three months in Germany are legally entitled
to vote and stand for election in certain German elections.
For the United States you have to be 18 years old and you have
to be a citizen of the United States either natural born or the
naturalization process.

Taxes and Government


Finance
Germany charges and income tax like the United States.
Germany makes money by fishing and also by their natural

resources including coal, natural gas, iron ore, copper,


nickel, and uranium.
United States is number one in military spending and
Germany is close at number seven.
Germany doesnt spend as much money as the United
States does on education.
Germany and United States spend close amount of money
on health care each year.

Relationship
Today the United States is regarded as one of the

Federal Republic of Germanys closest allies and


partners.
The United States and Germany have become very
good allies even after the wars they have fought
against each other.
