01F God and His Glory is Coming To Live With The People

Last updated on 5/23/15 this study is forty pages long

Introduction
The point of this study is to examine the prophecies and fulfillments of the LORD God coming to earth to live and
dwell in some way. It also looks at the "glory" of the LORD regarding prophecies, OT revelation, and the giving of
glory to Jesus and disciples in the NT.
Because of its direct connection with the appearing of God's glory, the temple of God will also be analyzed in parts
2F, 3F, 4F, 5F where the change from a physical building to a spiritual building is incredible. The study examines how
these things tie in with the comings of Jesus and the Holy Spirit, and the people of the Church. I have included the
approximate dates as often as possible to clarify when the prophecy was made and when it was fulfilled. The
conclusions will show that despite all the prophecies and fulfillments of God coming, none of it identifies God as
being Jesus.
This Section provides answers to at least five OT proof texts used by those who say Jesus is God. The passages 1
Kings 8:10-27, Isaiah 40:3-5, Isaiah 42:8, Isaiah 48:11, and Zechariah 2:10 all of which will be shown to have a
fulfillment in the OT. This section will also provide answers, either fully or in a supporting way, for at least another
six proof texts also used to incorrectly support the idea that Jesus is God. They are Malachi 3:1-3, Mathew 1:23,
Mathew 3:3, Mark 1:3, Luke 3:4-6, and John 1:23. Some of these have individual studies outside of this study. For
those who consider Jesus to be God this study is about to negate at least eleven proof texts, therefore it is extremely
important to study it all in detail.
It is interesting to take time and analyze the index realizing that the predictions of the OT on the subjects shown in
Parts 3A-E were all fulfilled fully, or partially, in the OT in Parts 4A-F. Each part is specific, for instance Part 3C
should have its OT fulfillment in 4C and its NT fulfillment in 5C. The progression of God's temple can be followed
from 2F to 3F to 4F to 5F. If you are able to, open this document twice to compare the prophesies to the fulfillments
side by side.

Part 1A OT No One Can See God And Live

The following scriptures show that people did actually see God but they expected to die once they had seen Him. In
all these cases, except the sons of Aaron, the people did not die after seeing God.
Genesis 32:30 For I have seen God face to face, and yet my life has been delivered
Vs30 Jacob expected to die and realized he was spared which was an exception to the norm
Hebrew: raah elohiym paniym paniym.
Saw God face to face

Exodus 19:20 The LORD descended to the top of Mount Sinai and called Moses to the top of the
mountain. So Moses went up 21 and the LORD said to him, "Go down and warn the people so they do not
force their way through to see the LORD and many of them perish. 22 Even the priests, who approach the
LORD, must consecrate themselves, or the LORD will break out against them." 23 Moses said to the
LORD, "The people cannot come up Mount Sinai, because you yourself warned us, 'Put limits around the
mountain and set it apart as holy.' "24 The LORD replied, "Go down and bring Aaron up with you. But the
priests and the people must not force their way through to come up to the LORD, or he will break out
against them."
Vs21 If the people had forced their way through they would have seen the LORD but would have died from it.
Vs22 It is unclear how far the priests could go if they were consecrated.
Vs24 It is unclear what it means that the LORD will break out against them.
Exodus 20:19 and said to Moses, "You speak to us, and we will listen, but do not let God speak to us, lest
we die."
The people thought that if God spoke with them, they would die.
Exodus 33:20 But," he said, "you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live." 21 Then the LORD
said, "There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. 22 When my glory (H3519/Kabowd) passes
by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. 23 Then I will
remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen."
The LORD God spoke to Moses and said, "no one may see me and live."
Leviticus 10:1 Now Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron offered unauthorized fire before the LORD
Vs2 and fire came out from before the LORD and consumed them and they died before the LORD
Leviticus 16:1 the two sons of Aaron, when they drew near before the LORD and died
vs2 Aaron not to come before the mercy seat so that he may not die. I will appear in the cloud over the seat
Aarons sons died when they saw the mercy seat
Deuteronomy 5:24 This day we have seen God speak with man, and man still live
These people expected Moses to die because he had spoken with God.
Nothing here says Moses saw Gods face.
Judges 6:22-23 With the tip of the staff that was in his hand, the angel of the LORD touched the meat and
the unleavened bread. Fire flared from the rock, consuming the meat and the bread. And the angel of the
LORD disappeared. 22 When Gideon realized that it was the angel of the LORD, he exclaimed, "Ah,
Sovereign LORD! I have seen the angel of the LORD face to face!"
23
But the LORD said to him, "Peace! Do not be afraid. You are not going to die."
The LORD said you won't die for seeing the angel of the LORD face to face.
It seems that Gideon did not see the LORDs face, or perhaps he did and he was given an exception.
Judges 13:22"We are doomed to die!" he said to his wife. "We have seen God!"
Micah says he is going to die for seeing God, although it was in fact the angel of the LORD
Summary:
Genesis 32:30
Exodus 19:20
Exodus 20:19
Exodus 33:20

Jacob saw God face to face and was spared

if the people see the LORD they will perish
The people thought that if God spoke with them, they would die.
no one may see me and live

Leviticus 16:1
Deuteronomy 5:24
Judges 6:22
Judges 13:22

the sons of Aaron drew near before the LORD and died
These people expected Moses to die because he had spoken with God
the angel of the LORD, or the LORD, said you are not going to die for seeing him.
we are doomed to die because we have seen God

The general viewpoint of the people of the OT, from these eight passages, was that if they saw the LORD God they
would die.
The question is, if Jesus is God when in time does the bible say that people dont die if they see God?

Part 1B NT No One Has Ever Seen God

Only in the NT does scripture say no one has ever seen God.
As Jesus is among the people who says this, therefore because he has "all authority" then it must be true.
No One Has Seen The Father
John 5:37 And the Father who sent me has himself testified concerning me. You have never heard his
nor seen his form.

voice

Jesus said "you have never heard the Father's voice or seen his form." If no one has ever seen the Father, then Jesus
cannot be the Father who is God.
Some might argue, we haven't seen God the Father which is different. See John 20:17 answers this when it says
I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.
It also seems strange that the Father testified, if no one has heard Him. What about Luke 9:35 where God says "this
is my son"? This is the Father testifying!
Perhaps these statements by Jesus applied to the Jews he was speaking to.
There is definitely some confusion here, however the point is Jesus says those people have not seen the Father.
John 6:46 No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father.
No one has seen the Father except Jesus.
Jesus is from God.
1 John 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in
you is greater than the one who is in the world. 5They are from the world and therefore speak from
the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. 6We are from God, and whoever knows
God listens to us;
Paul said the disciples are from God, and the we in vs. shows Paul was from God. Also John the Baptist in
John 1:6.
People are of God. 1 Samuel 9:6 & 10, Samuel. 1 Kings 12:22 Shemiah 1 Kings 17:24 Elijah etc
Jesus is of God, he is the Son of God.
People are from God, and of God, yet they have not seen the Father.
Jesus is from God, and of God, and has seen Father.
My understanding is that Jesus is from and of God in a different way! Perhaps because he was with God and of God
before coming to the earth. Perhaps the disciples position changed between John 6:46 and 1 John 4:4.
Jesus tells us that he is the exception and that only he has seen the Father.
No One Has Seen God

John 1:18 No one has ever seen God,

Oudeis horao theos
No man seen God
John says that no one has ever seen God, he continues saying Jesus is the exception.
Colossians 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
Because God is invisible, then no one has seen Him.
1 Timothy 1:17 Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory
(G1391/doxa) forever and ever. Amen.
God is invisible.
1 Timothy 6:15-16 which God will bring about in his own timeGod, the blessed and only Ruler, the King
of kings and Lord of lords,
16
who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him
be honor and might forever. Amen.
Vs15 God brings Jesus in his own time
Vs16 No one has seen God, or can see him (except Jesus.)
Vs16 Unapproachable light
1 John 4:12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made
complete in us.
John says no one has seen God.
1 John 4:20 If anyone says, "I love God," yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love
his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen.
Cannot love God, whom he has not seen.
Summary:
John 5:37
John 6:46
1 John 4:4

Jesus said you have never heard the Father's voice or seen his form
no one has ever seen the Father, except Jesus. Jesus is from God.
We, like Jesus, are from God and of God

John 1:18
Colossians 1:15
1 Timothy 1:17
1 Timothy 6:13-16
1 John 4:12
1 John 4:20

No one has ever seen God

the invisible God
invisible, the only God
God, whom no one has seen or can see
No one has ever seen God
cannot love God, whom he has not seen

Jesus said no one has ever seen the Father

Paul said God is invisible
Timothy said God is invisible, lives in unapproachable light, and no one has seen or can see.
John says no one has ever seen God yet he spent numerous years seeing Jesus.
Jesus, John, Paul and Timothy all say God is invisible, has not and cannot be seen. Therefore none of them could
have understood Jesus to be God!

Part 2F God in His Heavenly Temple:

There are no parts 2A-E. This Part 2F is in relation to 3F, 4F, 5F. Here God has a heavenly temple, later he has an
earthly OT temple and then his NT Jesus' fleshly temple, and then the current fleshly Church temple.
2 Samuel 22:7 In my distress I called upon the LORD; to my God I called. From his temple he heard my
voice, and my cry came to his ears
The LORD God is in his heavenly temple
Psalm 11:4 The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORDs throne is in heaven; his eyes see, his eyelids test the
children of man
The LORD is in his heavenly temple
Psalm 18:6 In my distress I called upon the LORD; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my
voice, and my cry to him reached his ear
The LORD God was in his heavenly temple
Psalm 27:4-5 One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the
LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to inquire in his temple.
5 For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will
lift me high upon a rock.
Inquire of the LORD in his temple
Isaiah 6:1-3 In the year that King Uzziah died I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and
the train of his robe filled the temple.
2 Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered
his feet, and with two he flew.
3 And one called to another and said: Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his
glory! (H3519/Kabowd)
"The train of God's robe filled the temple" is a statement by Isaiah of his vision.
Hab 2:20 But the LORD is in his holy temple; let all the earth keep silence before him.
Habakkuk talking of God and false idols says, "the LORD is in his holy temple."
Jonah 2:7 When my life was fainting away, I remembered the LORD, and my prayer came to you, into your
holy temple
Jonah, while in the belly of the fish, prayed to God. My prayer came to God in his temple
Summary:
2 Samuel 22:7 The LORD God is in His heavenly temple
Psalm 11:4
The LORD is in His heavenly temple
Psalm 18:6
The LORD God was in His temple
Psalm 27:4-5 Inquire of the LORD in His temple
Isaiah 6:1-3 The train of Gods robe filled the temple
Habakkuk 2:20 The LORD is in His holy temple
Jonah 2:7
Jonahs prayer came to God in his temple

As per Samuel, Psalms, Isaiah, Habakkuk and Jonah, the LORD God has a heavenly temple where he was and is

Part 3A God Will Be Coming

Despite the fact that the bible has said very clearly in Parts 1A-B that God is invisible and has not been seen
otherwise we will die, there is a lot of predictions and fulfillments of God coming and being seen in some way! I have
shown the dates as often as possible in order to confirm the OT or NT fulfillments.
Exodus 20:24 And the LORD said to Moses. In every place where I cause my name to be remembered I will
come to you and bless you.
1300 BC approx
The LORD God says he will come to the people, therefore he is talking with during their lifetimes.
Numbers 11:16-17 Then the LORD said to Moses
And I will come down and talk with you there. And I will take some of the Spirit that is on you and put it on
them, and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, so that you may not bear it yourself alone.
The LORD God said he will come down and talk with Moses, therefore He came during the next few years.
Numbers 23:3-5 And Balaam said to Balak, Stand beside your burnt offering, and I will go. Perhaps the
LORD will come to meet me, and whatever he shows me I will tell you. And he went to a bare height,
4 and God met Balaam. And Balaam said to him, I have arranged the seven altars and I have offered on each
altar a bull and a ram.
5 And the LORD put a word in Balaams mouth and said, Return to Balak, and thus you shall speak.
1300 BC approx
In the prior chapter 22 the story of Balaam's donkey, the angel of the LORD had come and spoken to Balaam.
Vs3 Balaam wonders if the LORD will come to meet him.
Vs4 "and God met Balaam"
Hoses 6:3 Let us know, let us press on to know the LORD, his going out is sure as the dawn, he will come to
us as the showers, as the spring rains that water the earth
722 BC approx
The LORD will come to us.
Summary:
Exodus 20:24
Numbers 11:16
Numbers 23:3
Hosea 6:3

1300 BC: the LORD says "I will come to you and bless you" (to Moses)
1300 BC: the LORD said "and I will come down and talk with you" (to Moses)
1300 BC: Balaam wonders if the LORD will come to meet him. (to Balaam)
722 BC: The LORD will come to us.

These four passages say God would be coming and in each instance and in some way God did come.
The timing is never specifically identified however it seemed to have usually happened in some way either
immediately after, or within a few years.
None of these prophectic scriptures of God's coming are waiting to be fulfilled.

Part 3A2 God Will Be Coming, He Was Represented

Although God said he was coming, each of the following passages show that he was represented. The fulfillments can
be read in Part 4A2.

Isaiah 31:4 For thus the LORD said to me, as a lion or a young lion growls over his prey, and when a band
of shepherds is called out against him he is not terrified by their shouting or daunted at their noise, so the
LORD of hosts will come down to fight on Mount Zion an on its hill.
The LORD will come down to fight on Mount Zion against the Assyrians according to vs8 who will fall by a sword
not of man. The fulfillment comes in Isaiah 37:36 when the angel of the LORD struck down 185,000 of the Assyrian
soldiers.
So although this passage says God will come it was the angel that came in this instance.
Isaiah 35:4-6 Say to those who have an anxious heart, "Be strong, fear not! Behold, your God will come
with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.
5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped;
6 then shall the lame man leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute sing for joy. For waters break forth in
the wilderness, and streams in the desert;
700 BC approx.
Isaiah is talking to the people and says of God He will come and save you.
This entire chapter, and more, was written in regard to the Nation of Israel who were being held in Babylonian
captivity and how God would rescue them from their captivity as he had at the Exodus from Pharoah.
The fulfillment comes in 538BC approx in Isaiah 44:28 - 45:1 when Cyrus the Great the King of Persia, who is God's
anointed and God's shepherd comes on God's behalf. It is written in detail throughout the book of Ezra
The titles of King and anointed were also given to Saul and David.
So although this passage says God will come, it was King Cyrus who came in this instance.
In the NT it was Jesus who came and fulfilled vs5-6 for God just as Cyrus had he also had the titles of King, anointed
and shepherd.
Jeremiah 11:22 thus says the LORD of hosts: Behold, I will punish them. The young men shall die by the
sword, their sons and their daughters shall dies by famine,
23 and none of them shall be left. For I will bring disaster upon the men of Anathoth, the year of their
punishment.
655-586 BC approx
vs22 God says behold I will punish them. The young men will die by the sword.
Just as the people had earlier plotted Jeremiah's murder, they would now die instead.
God did not physically put the sword into people rather he influenced Nebuchadnezzar the Babylonian King, the
King of the Chaldean Army to do it for him as per Jeremiah 32:5..
Vs23 Anathoth is no more so whatever was going to happen has already happened.
So although this passage says that God would punish people he did not come and do it personally rather, he had
Nebuchadnezzar the Babylonian King, the King of the Chaldean Army to do it for Him.
Micah 1:3 For behold, the LORD is coming out of his place, and will come down and tread upon the high
places of the earth
740-670 BC approx
vs3 The LORD is coming out of his place.
vs5 The "high place" is Jerusalem.
Ch 2:3 God is devising disaster
3:12 Therefore because of you Zion shall be plowed as a field; Jerusalem shall become a heap of ruins,
This happened in 701BC when Sennacherib's Assyrian army destroyed 46 (Bible Knowledge Commentary) towns in
Judah and surrounded Jerusalem 2 Kings 18-19

So although this passage says God will come, it was Sennacherib's Assyrian army who came in this instance.
Summary:
Isaiah 31:4
Isaiah 35:4
Jeremiah 11:22
Micah 1:3

700 BC: The LORD will come down to fight on Mount Zion
700 BC: God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God, come and save you
600 BC: I will punish them. The young men shall die by the sword,
700 BC: The LORD is coming out of his place, will come down and tread on earthly places

These four passages are different from Part 3A in that they say God would be coming but he actually sent other
people in his stead in each instance. God had representitives do His work. There is more detail of how each prophecy
was fulfilled and who came in his stead in Part 4A2.
None of these prophectic scriptures of God's coming are waiting to be fulfilled.

Part 3B God's Glory Will Be Coming

It was written that God's glory would be coming, and later did come in Part 4B.
Exodus 16:7 and in the morning you shall see the glory (H3519/Kabowd) of the LORD
1300BC
Aaron would see the glory, the next day in vs10 and also in 24:16.
Leviticus 9:6 that the glory (H3519/Kabowd) of the LORD may appear to you
1300BC
The glory will appear to Aaron, it came it vs23 which seemed to be within the hour
Numbers 14:21 But truly, as I live, and as all the earth shall be filled with the glory (H3519/Kabowd) of
the LORD
1300BC
The earth would be filled with glory. It had been at the tent of meeting in vs10 and would now be coming again. It
came on a further three times in Numbers, shown in Part 4B. Because all those over twenty years of age, according to
vs29, were rejected from seeing the promised land it would seem right to assume that it was those left that saw the
glory of the LORD.
All the earth seems an exaggeration, unless it is a prophecy of Judgment Day.
Isaiah 40:5 And the glory (H3519/Kabowd) of the LORD shall be revealed (H1540/galah) , and all flesh
shall see it together, from the mouth of the LORD has spoken.
H1540/Galah: appear, bewray, bring, depart, disclose, discover, exile, be gone, open, plainly, publish, remove, reveal,
shew, tell, uncover.
The glory shall be revealed, it was revealed and appeared in Isaiah 60:1-2 see Part 5D.
All flesh shall see it together seems again to be an exaggeration, unless it is a double prophecy of Judgment Day.
Isaiah 66:18-19 And they shall come and shall see my glory, (H3519/Kabowd)
and I will set a sign among them. And from them I will send survivors to the nations, to Tarshish,
Those that see God's glory would be sent to Tarshish which no longer exists, therefore this has happened already.
Ezekiel 39:21 And I will set my glory (H3519/Kabowd) among the nations, and all the nations shall see my
judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid on them.
22 The house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God, from that day forward.

The coming of God's glory seemed to be happening from 39:21 onwards and is confirmed in Ezekiel 43 which is in
the fulfillments in Part 4B.
Summary:
Exodus 16:7
Leviticus 9:6
Numbers 14:21
Isaiah 40:5
Isaiah 66:18
Ezekiel 39:21

1300 BC: Aaron would see the glory, the next day.
1300 BC: The glory will appear to Aaron, it came it vs23 which was within the hour
1300 BC: The earth would be filled with glory.
700 BC: The glory shall be revealed, it appeared in Isaiah 60:1-2
700 BC: Those that see God's glory would be sent to Tarshish which no longer exists
600 BC: The glory would be seen after this point

The dates shown are all approximate.

God's glory would be coming. The term "glory of the LORD" is in the bible 38 times and nearly all the occurrences
are describing the fulfillments, rather than prophecies, of the appearance of the "glory of the LORD.'
None of these prophectic scriptures of God's glory coming are waiting to be fulfilled.

Part 3B2 God's Glory Will Be Coming, He Was Represented

Although these passages say God's glory will be cvoming, it was actually revealed through people.
Isaiah 35:2 They shall see the glory (H3519/Kabowd) of the LORD, the majesty of our God
They shall see the glory.
This and vs4 are parts of the prophecy regarding the angel of the LORD coming in Isaiah 37:36. This fulfillment is
identified in Part 4A2.
Ezekiel 28:22 and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, O Sidon,
and I will manifest my glory (H3513 kabad) in your midst. And they shall know that I am the LORD when I
execute judgments in her and manifest my holiness in her;
23 for I will send pestilence into her, and blood into her streets; and the slain shall fall in her midst, by the
sword that is against her on every side.
vs22 God would manifest his glory in the peoples midst.
This happened shortly afterwards when the Sidonians would be plagued by the sword as per Ezekiel 32:30
Ezekiel 39:13 For seven months the house of Israel will be burying them, in order to cleanse the land.
13 All the people of the land will bury them, and it will bring them renown on the day that I show my glory,
(H3513 kabad) declares the Lord GOD.
On a certain day God will show his glory. This happened within seven months
Summary:
Isaiah 35:2
Ezekiel 28:22
Ezekiel 39:13

700 BC: They shall see the glory, fulfilled in Isaiah 37:26
600 BC: God would manifest his glory in the peoples midst
600 BC: On a certain day God will show his glory

The fulfillments of each of these three prophecies when people will see God's glory can be seen in Part 4B2 where
God's glory was represented by or in people.
None of these prophectic scriptures of God's glory coming are waiting to be fulfilled.

Part 3C God Will Live In A Building

God will be living in a tent or a temple

Exodus 29:42-46 It shall be a regular burnt offering throughout your generations at the entrance of the tent
of meeting before the LORD, where I will meet with you, to speak to you there.
43
There I will meet with the people of Israel, and it shall be sanctified by my glory (H3519/Kabowd)
44
I will consecrate the tent of meeting and the altar. Aaron also and his sons I will consecrate to serve me as
priests.
45
I will dwell among the people of Israel and will be their God
46
And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt that I
might dwell among them. I am the LORD their God.
Vs42 The LORD God will meet and speak to the people in the tent of meeting
Vs43 The LORD God will meet in the tent
Vs45 The LORD God will dwell among the people of that time
Vs46 God brought the people from Egypt that he might dwell among them at that time.
1300 BC:
1 Kings 8:10 And when the priests came out of the Holy Place, a cloud filled the house of the LORD
11
so that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory (H3519/Kabowd) of the
LORD filled the house of the LORD.
12
Then Solomon said, The LORD has said that he would dwell in thick darkness.
13
I have indeed built you an exalted house, a place for you to dwell in forever
27
But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the highest heaven cannot contain you, how
much less this house that I have built.
The moving of the Arc of the Covenant to the Tent of Meeting
Vs11 The glory of God filled the house
Vs12 The LORD will dwell in thick darkness and had often appeared in a cloud
Vs13 Solomon built a house for God to dwell in
Vs27 Solomon realizes that God doesn't really dwell on the earth. God cannot dwell in a house.
Summary:
Exodus 29:42-46
1300 BC: The LORD God intends to meet and speak to the people in the tent of meeting
1 Kings 8:10-13
950 BC: God was coming to dwell in the house that Solomon had built
Dates are approximate.
God will dwell/live in a house/tent of meeting
Solomon realizes that God doesn't dwell in houses as heaven cannot contain him.
There are no passages in Part 4C to fulfill these two passages, however in Part 4D there are many that reveal God's
glory living in a building.

Part 3D God's Glory Will Live In A Building

Summary:
There are no scriptures that prophecise God's glory will live in a building, although there are several that say when he
does in Part 4D.

Part 3E God Will Live Among The People

There are several prophecies that say God will live/dwell among the people
1 Kings 6:11-13 Now the word of the LORD came to Solomon
12
Concerning this house that you are building, if you walk in my statutes and obey my rules and keep all my
commandments and walk in them, then I will establish my word with you, which I spoke to David your
father.
13
And I will dwell among the children of Israel and will not forsake my people Israel.

Vs11 God spoke to Solomon

Vs12 Regarding the temple which was the Tent of Meeting
Vs13 God said I will dwell among the people, this was perhaps fulfilled in the following verses.
P4D 1 Kings 8:10
the glory of the LORD filled the house
P4A 1 Kings 9:2
the LORD appeared to Solomon
P4A 1 Kings 11:9
the God of Israel appeared to Solomon
Zechariah 2:10-11 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion, for behold, I come and I will dwell in your midst,
declares the LORD
And many nations shall join themselves to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people. And I will dwell
in your midst, and you shall know that the LORD of hosts has sent me to you.
Vs10 The LORD God will come and dwell in the midst of the people
Vs11 The LORD God says "I will dwell in your midst"
The entire book of Zechariah is a series of apocalyptic visions as revealed by a heavenly messenger or angel.
Chapters 1-7 were written approximately 520BC before the restoration of the temple.
Chapters 8-14 were written approximately 480BC after the restoration of the temple.
This book was written to the Jews in Jerusalem who had returned from their captivity in Babylon in the year 538BC.
They had started work on the temple in 536BC but work had stopped in 530BC. Hagai, and Zechariah had become
prophets and in 520BC the temple work is resumed. The temple is completed in 516BC.
In the first seven chapters Zechariah is at the point of encouraging the people to finish rebuilding the temple.
This prophecy is fulfilled in Zechariah 8:3 in Part 4E of this study
Because of the difficulites identifying the speaker, I have an analysis of Zechariah 2:1-13 on a separate page.
Revelation 21:3 Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be
his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
A prediction and prophecy that will be fulfilled at the end of times. vs1 is in regards a new heaven and a new earth,
vs2 is the new Jerusalem coming out of heaven. The dwelling place of God will be at that time with man.
Summary:
1 Kings 6:11-13
950 BC: the LORD will dwell among the people
Zechariah 2:10-11
520 BC: the LORD will dwell in your midst
Revelation 21:3
80 AD: the dwelling place of God will be with man
Both OT passages will become fulfilled later in each book, identified in Part 4E. Revelation is yet to happen

Part 3F God is Coming to His OT Temple, and The NT Church/Temple

The OT foretold of God coming to his OT temple and also further forward to the NT Church temple.
Zechariah 6:11-15 Take from them silver and gold, and make a crown, and set it on the head of Joshua, the
son of Jehozadak, the high priest.
12 And say to him, Thus says the LORD of hosts, Behold, the man whose name is the Branch: for he shall
branch out from his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD.
13 It is he who shall build the temple of the LORD and shall bear royal honor, and shall sit and rule on his
throne. And there shall be a priest on his throne, and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.
14 And the crown shall be in the temple of the LORD as a reminder to Helem, Tobijah, Jedaiah, and Hen the
son of Zephaniah.
15 And those who are far off shall come and help to build the temple of the LORD. And you shall know that
the LORD of hosts has sent me to you. And this shall come to pass, if you will diligently obey the voice of the
LORD your God.
Here we have a dual prophecy. Such "dual prophecies" are common in scripture and they are commonly called "near
fulfillment" and "far fulfillment."

Zechariah is having a dream or vision.

Near Fulfillment:
6:1-8 The four chariots representing four spirits going out to the North, South, East and West.
6:9-11 The word of the LORD came to the prophet Zechariah telling him to place a crown on Joshuas head: Joshua
was already the high priest, and the prophet was to crown him as a symbolic king. The coronation was to serve as an
encouragement to Joshua in his work of rebuilding the temple. It must have astonished Joshua and the people to hear
this command, because the royal crown did not belong to the high-priest but to the descendant of David. Joshua must
have understood that the whole command had a symbolical bearing.
Vs12 Joshua the High Priest (also Zech 3:1,) is the branch (also Zech 3:8,) who will rebuild the temple of the LORD.
He did this with Zerubbabel the Govenor of Judah, and prophets Zechariah and Haggai as per Ezra 5:1-2 which is
shown in Part 4F.
Vs13 Joshua, the priest from God, will be on the throne with the King, they will work together.
The "near fulfillment" of this and Zechariah 2:10-11 is in Zechariah 8:3 in Part 4E of this study
Also, it was a visual prophecy of the future Messiahwho would be both high priest (Hebrews 6:20) and king
(Mathew 27:11). Also, the name Joshua is the Hebrew equivalent of the Greek name Jesus. Thus, the priest-king
Joshua was a foreshadowing of the coming Messiah, and the similarity extended even to his name.
Far Fulfillment:
Vs12 The prophetic branch is Jesus as per Isaiah 11:1, Jeremiah 23:5, 33:15.
A man, called the branch, Jesus, will come from his place in heaven to build the temple on the earth.
The temple is the Church or God's house. Jesus is the cornerstone, the disciples are the building.
The OT temple where the glory of God dwelled will be no more, it was to become a spiritual Church temple.
The "far fulfillment" is in the NT in Part 5F
Malachi 3:1-2 Behold, I send my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me. And the Lord whom
you seek will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant in whom you delight, behold,
he is coming, says the LORD of hosts.
There was no OT fulfillment of Malachi 3, the fulfillment comes in the NT
The first messenger is John the Baptist.
The Lord whom you seek, Jesus will come to his temple.
Jesus is the second messenger, of the covenant.
The LORD God says the messenger, Jesus, is coming
There is an in depth analysis of Malachi 3:1-2 xxxx add link to Mark 1:1-3
Summary:
Zechariah 6:12 Near Fulfillment: A man, called the branch, Joshua the priest along with Zerubbabel, Zechariah and
Haggai would rebuild the OT temple which was completed in 516BC approx.
Zechariah 6:12 Far Fulfillment: A man, called the branch, Jesus, will come from his place in heaven to build the
temple on the earth. The temple is the Church is God's house. Jesus is the cornerstone, the disciples are the building.
OT Joshua and NT Jesus are both the Branch, High Priest, King, have virtually the same name, and are servants of
God.
Malachi 3:1-3 This prophecy is fulfilled only in the NT. The explanation is in Part 5F.

Part 4A God Came And Appeared To Many

There were OT times when God was on the earth
Below is a partial list of people who saw God, he appeared to them, they had interaction with him
Abraham: (2000 BC approx)
Genesis 12:7 Then the LORD appeared to Abram
Genesis 17:1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him
Genesis 18:1 And the LORD appeared to him by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat at the door of his tent

Balaam: (1300BC approx)

Numbers 23:3 and God met Balaam. And Balaam said to him, I have arranged the seven altars and I
Isaac: (1900 BC approx)
Genesis 26:2 And the LORD appeared to him and said "don't go down to Egypt
Genesis 26:24 And the LORD appeared to him the same night and said "I am the God of Abraham"
Jacob: (1800 BC approx)
Genesis 32:30 For I have seen God face to face, an yet my life has been delivered.
Genesis 35:9 God appeared to Jacob again, when he came from Paddan-arram, and blessed him.
Genesis 48:3 God Almighty appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me
Moses: (1393-1293 BC approx)
Exodus 3:16 The LORD the God of your fathers has appeared to me saying
Ex 4:5, 6:2-3, 19:11, 19:20, 24:9-11, 33:11,
Num 12:4-5 And suddenly the LORD said to Moses, Aaron, and Miriam, "come out, you three, to the tent
of meeting." And the three of them came out. And the LORD came down in a pillar of cloud and stood at
the entrance of the tent and called Aaron and Miriam, and they both came forward. And he said
Numbers 12:7-8, 14:14,
Deut 5:4-5 The LORD spoke with you face to face at the mountain, out of the midst of the fire
Deuteronomy 31:14, 34:10
Solomon: (990-931 BC approx)
1 Kings 9:2 The LORD appeared to Solomon a second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon
1 Kings11:9 the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice
2 Chron 1:7, 7:12.
Fulfilling 1 Kings 6:11 And I will dwell among the children of Israel
Job: (2000 BC approx)
Job 19:26 After my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God
Job 33:26 then man prays to God, and he accepts him; he sees his face with a shout of joy
Job 42:1+5
Many People:
Exodus 24:9-11 Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up 10 and saw
the God of Israel. Under his feet was something like a pavement made of sapphire, clear as the sky itself. 11
But God did not raise his hand against these leaders of the Israelites; they beheld God, and they ate
and
drank.
Seeing God without God raising his hand against them, was this an exception? There were 74 people who saw God
on this occasion
Judges 6:7-10 The LORD sent a prophet to the people of Israel. And he said to them, Thus says the
LORD, the God of Israel, I led you up from Egypt and brought you out of the house of slavery.
God sends a prophet who says thus says the LORD, I lead you up from Egypt.
So did God actually appear and lead the people? The passage does not say God appeared, it says He led them.
God caused Moses, the pillar of fire, the cloud, and other exceptions to lead the people.
Summary:
Abraham
Balaam
Isaac

2000 BC approx Genesis 12:7, 17:1, 18:1

1300 BC approx Numbers 23:3
1900 BC approx Genesis 26:2,24

Jacob
1800 BC approx Genesis 32:30, 35:9, 48:3
Moses
1300 BC: Exodus 3:16, 4:5, 6:2-3, 19:11, 19:20, 24:9-11, 33:11, Numbers 12:4-5
Solomon
950 BC: 1 Kings 9:2, 11:9, 2 Chron 1:7, 7:12
Job
2000 BC: Job 19:26, 33:26, 42:1 + 5
Many People Ex 19:11, Ex 24:9-11, Judges 6:7-10, Ezekiel 20:35, Jeremiah 31:3,
All dates are approximate.
There is a large amount of scriptures that God to appeared to many including Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses,
Solomon, Job and others.
Several passages in Part 1 and Part 2 say no one has seen God, nor can they see God and live. So the question is what
happened in the OT? What were the people looking at? Personally, I don't know.
It is interesting to note that of all times God came to these people it was only in the case of Moses and Solomon
where there was a previous prophecy which later became fulfilled. These were identified in Part 3A.

Part 4A2 God Said He Was Coming, He Had Representatives

There are at least the following four prophecies of God coming where he had representatives in His stead.
God Would Come, the Angel Came:
Isaiah 31:4 For thus the LORD said to me, as a lion or a young lion growls over his prey, and when a band
of shepherds is called out against him he is not terrified by their shouting or daunted at their noise, so the
LORD of hosts will come down to fight on Mount Zion an on its hill.
700BC approx
The LORD will come down to fight on Mount Zion against the Assyrians according to vs8 who will fall by a sword
not of man. The fulfillment comes in Isaiah 37:36 when the angel of the LORD struck down 185,000 of the Assyrian
soldiers. So although this passage says God will come it was the angel that came in this instance.
Isaiah 37:34-36 By the way that he came, by the same he shall return, and he shall not come into
this city, declares the LORD.
35 For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake and for the sake of my servant David.
36 And the angel of the LORD went out and struck down 185,000 in the camp of the Assyrians. And
when people arose early in the morning, behold, these were all dead bodies.
God Would Come, Cyrus the Great Came:
Isaiah 35:2 They shall see the glory (H3519/Kabowd) of the LORD, the majesty of our God
Isaiah 35:4-6 Say to those who have an anxious heart, "Be strong, fear not! Behold, your God will come
with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.
5 Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf unstopped;
6 then shall the lame man leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute sing for joy. For waters break forth in
the wilderness, and streams in the desert;
Isaiah is talking to the people and says of God He will come and save you. 700 BC approx.
It is written in detail throughout the book of Ezra.
The titles of King and anointed were also given to Saul and David.
All of these titles had additional later fulfillment when they applied to Jesus.
Isaiah 44:28 who says of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and he shall fulfill all my purpose; saying of
Jerusalem, She shall be built, and of the temple, Your foundation shall be laid.

Thus says the LORD to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have grasped, to subdue
nations before him and to loose the belts of kings, to open doors before him that gates may not be
closed:
45:1

God Would Come, Nebuchadnezzar's Army Came:

Jeremiah 11:22 thus says the LORD of hosts: Behold, I will punish them. The young men shall die by the
sword, their sons and their daughters shall dies by famine,
23 and none of them shall be left. For I will bring disaster upon the men of Anathoth, the year of their
punishment.
655-586 BC approx
vs22 God says behold I will punish them. The young men will die by the sword.
Just as the people had earlier plotted Jeremiah's murder, they would now die instead.
God did not physically put the sword into people rather he influenced Nebuchadnezzar the Babylonian King, the
King of the Chaldean Army to do it for him as per Jeremiah 32:5 and through to chapter 39.
Vs23 Anathoth is no more so whatever was going to happen has already happened.
So although this passage says that God would punish people he did not come and do it personally rather, he had
Nebuchadnezzar the Babylonian King, the King of the Chaldean Army to do it for Him.
God Would Come, Sennacheribs Assyrian Army Came:
Micah 1:3 For behold, the LORD is coming out of his place, and will come down and tread upon the high
places of the earth
5 All this is for the transgression of Jacob and for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the transgression of
Jacob? Is it not Samaria? And what is the high place of Judah? Is it not Jerusalem?
6 Therefore I will make Samaria a heap in the open country, a place for planting vineyards, and I will pour
down her stones into the valley and uncover her foundations.
7 All her carved images shall be beaten to pieces, all her wages shall be burned with fire, and all her idols I
will lay waste
9 For her wound is incurable, and it has come to Judah; it has reached to the gate of my people, to Jerusalem.
Micah 2:3 Therefore thus says the LORD: behold, against this family I am devising disaster, from which
you cannot remove your necks, and you shall not walk haughtily, for it will be a time of disaster.
740-670 BC approx
vs3 The LORD is coming out of his place.
vs5 There are two areas, Samria the capital of the area of Jacob/Israel, and Jerusalem the capital of Judah to the south.
vs5 The "high place" is Jerusalem.
It may have had a double meaning as a place on a hilltop where people worshipped God or idols.
It is said that the people had deserted the temple David had had built and had returned to the pagan high places on the
hilltops to worship
vs6 Samaria will be made a heap
vs7 Samaria's carved images will be beaten to pieces
vs9-16 the sins of Samaria have spread to Jerusalem and God would deal with them next.
Ch 2:3 God is devising disaster
3:12 Therefore because of you Zion shall be plowed as a field; Jerusalem shall become a heap of ruins,
This happened in 701BC when Sennacherib's Assyrian army destoryed 46 (Bible Knowledge Commentary) towns in
Judah and surrounded Jerusalem 2 Kings 18-19
So although this passage says God will come, it was Sennacherib's Assyrian army who came in this instance.
Summary:
Isaiah 31:4
God would come, fulfilled when the angel of death came in
Isaiah 35:2-6 Says of God, "He will come and save you" fulfilled when king Cyrus came in
Jeremiah 11:22 God says, "I will punish them" fulfilled when King Nebuchadnezzar came in

Isaiah 37:36
Isaiah 44:28
Isaiah 32-39

Micah 1:3 The LORD will be coming, fulfilled when the Assyrian army came in

2 kings 18-19

Here are four major instances when the LORD God said he was coming but had a representative, or many, come on
His behalf.

Part 4B God's Glory Came And Appeared To Many

The appearing of God's glory happened on numerous occassions
Exodus 16:10 And as soon as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the people of Israel, they looked
toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory (H3519/Kabowd) of the LORD appeared in the cloud
1300BC
The congregation saw the glory of the LORD in the cloud.
This fulfilled the prophecy from vs7
Exodus 24:16 The glory (H3519/Kabowd) of the LORD dwelt on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it
six days. And on the seventh day he called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.
vs17 Now the appearance of the glory (H3519/Kabowd) of the LORD was like a devouring fire on the top
of the mountain in the sight of the people of Israel.

Moses and Aaron again saw the glory of the LORD
This may be the fulfillment of the prophecy in 14:21.

Psalm 102:16 For the LORD builds up Zion, he appears in his glory (H3519/Kabowd)
he regards the prayer of the destitute and does not despise their prayer
The LORD appears in his glory
Ezekiel 3:23 and behold, the glory (H3519/Kabowd) of the LORD stood there, like the glory that I had seen
by the Chebar canal, and I fell on my face.
The glory of the LORD stood there

All dates are approximate.
The glory of the LORD God came and appeared to many, including these thirteen passages, on numerous different
occasions.

Part 4B2 God's Glory Was Revealed Through Representatives

The LORD God used others to represent His needs.
Ezekiel 28:22 says that God will manifest His glory (H3513/Kabad) when he sends blood into their streets.

Ezekiel 32:30 confirms that the Sidonians, referred to in 28:22, had been put to the sword.
So although the LORD God wasnt actually there, he was represented through the armies that won particular battles in
which the Sidonians were the loosers.
Ezekiel 39:13 For seven months the house of Israel will be burying them, in order to cleanse the land.
13 All the people of the land will bury them, and it will bring them renown on the day that I show my glory,
(H3513/Kabad) declares the Lord GOD.
On a certain day God will show his glory. This happened within seven months during the burying of the dead.
It is unclear if God came or if the clean up operation, done by men, was the revelation of God's glory.
Summary:
Ezekiel 28:22 God would send blood into their streets, fulfilled when the Sidonians died in
Ezekiel 39:13 God would show His glory, perhaps fulfilled during the clean up operation.

Ezekiel 32:30

God said he would manifest or show his glory and did so through these people.

Part 4C God Did Live In A Building

Part 4E God Did Live Among The People

There were times when the LORD God came and lived among the people.
Exodus 20:20-21 Moses said to the people, "Do not fear, for God has come to test you, that the fear of him
may be before you, that you may not sin."
The people stood far off, while Moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was.
God had come at that point in time. God was in the thick darkness where Moses went to speak to him.
There are fourteen passages of prophecies and fulfillments of God coming in Exodus in the scripture list at the end of
this section.
Ezekiel 43:6-9
6
While the man was standing beside me, I heard one speaking to me out of the temple,
7
and he said to me, "Son of man, this is the place of my throne and the place of the soles of my feet, where I
will dwell in the midst of the people of Israel forever
9
Now let them put away their whoring and the dead bodies of their kings far from me, and I will dwell in their
midst forever.

Vs7 This is the place where the LORD will dwell in the midst of the people of Israel forever
Vs9 The LORD God will dwell in their midst forever
This seems to say that from that point forward the LORD God would be dwelling/living among the people.
Psalm 68:7-16 O God when you went out before your people, when you marched through the wilderness
16
Why do you look with hatred, O many peaked mountain, at the mount that God desired for his abode, yes,
where the LORD will dwell forever?
17
The chariots of God are twice ten thousand, thousands upon thousands; the Lord (H136) is among them,
Vs7 God marched in the wilderness
Vs16 The LORD God will dwell in his abode forever
Vs16 The mount that God dwells in is Jerusalem ( Zechariah 8:3)
Vs17 The Lord God is among the people
Psalm 132:13-14 For the LORD has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his dwelling place.
14
This is my resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it.
Vs13 God has desired to live in Jerusalem
Vs14 God will rest in Jerusalem forever, He will dwell there.
It seems to imply from that point in time onwards.
Zechariah 8:3 Thus says the LORD: I have returned to Zion and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem, and
Jerusalem shall be called the faithful city, and the mountain of the LORD of hosts, the holy mountain.
Vs3 The LORD God says "I have returned," is a fulfillment of the prophecy when He said "I will come."
In 2:10-11 God said he would come and then He would dwell in their midst
In 8:3
God said I have returned, and is about to dwell in their midst
Vs3 Jerusalem shall be called the holy mountain
Summary:
Exodus 20:20-21
1350 BC: God was in the thick darkness where Moses went to speak to him.
Exodus 43:6-9
1350 BC: the LORD God will dwell in the midst of the people of Israel forever

1000 BC: the LORD will rest and dwell in Jerusalem forever
Zechariah 8:3
500 BC: The fulfillment of the prophecy from Zechariah 2:10-11 and 6:11-15
All dates are approximate.
These passages say that God was living among, and would live among, the people from then onwards.

Part 4F God in His OT Temple

God, as per numerous predictions, came to his OT earthly temple.
2 Chron 7:1 As soon as Solomon finished his prayer, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt
offering and the sacrifices, and the glory (H3519/Kabowd) of the LORD filled the temple.
2 And the priests could not enter the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD filled the LORDs
house.
The glory of the LORD filled the temple on earth
2 Chron 7:3 When all the people of Israel saw the fire come down and the glory (H3519/Kabowd) of the
LORD on the temple, they bowed down with their faces to the ground on the pavement and worshiped and gave
thanks to the LORD, saying, For he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.
4 Then the king and all the people offered sacrifice before the LORD.

The glory of the LORD was on the temple

Ezekiel 43:4-5 As the glory (H3519/Kabowd) of the LORD entered the temple by the gate facing east,
5 the Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court; and behold, the glory (H3519/Kabowd) of the
LORD filled the temple.
The glory of the LORD was in the temple
Fulfilling the prophecies from Ezekiel 28 and 39
Ezekiel 44:4 the glory (H3519/Kabowd) of the LORD filled the temple of the LORD
The glory of the LORD was in the temple.
Fulfilling the prophecies from Ezekiel 28 and 39
Ezra 5:1-2 Now the prophets, Haggai and Zechariah the son of Iddo, prophesied to the Jews who were in
Judah and Jerusalem, in the name of the God of Israel who was over them.
2 Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Jeshua the son of Jozadak arose and began to rebuild the house
of God that is in Jerusalem, and the prophets of God were with them, supporting them.
16 Then this Sheshbazzar came and laid the foundations of the house of God that is in Jerusalem, and
from that time until now it has been in building, and it is not yet finished.
Vs1-2 This is the fulfillment of the prophecies from Zechariah 2:10 and the rebuilding of the OT temple
Vs16 The rebuilding is not complete yet.
Ezra 6:14-15 And the elders of the Jews built and prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet
and Zechariah the son of Iddo. They finished their building by decree of the God of Israel and by decree of
Cyrus and Darius and Artaxerxes king of Persia;
15 and this house was finished on the third day of the month of Adar, in the sixth year of the reign of Darius
the king.
Vs14 "They finished their building"
Vs15 "and this house was finished"
This happened in approximately 516BC
Summary:
2 Chron 7:1
2 Chron 7:3
Ezekiel 43:4
Ezekiel 44:4

950 BC: The glory of the LORD filled the temple

950 BC: The glory of the LORD was on the temple
600 BC: The glory of the LORD was in the temple
600BC: The glory of the LORD was in the temple

Part 5A God Will Not Give His Glory To Another

God says he will not give his glory to another.
Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD. That is my name, my glory (Kabod/H3519) I give to no other, nor my praise to
carved idols
The LORD God will not give his glory to another.
The LORD God will not give His praise to carved idols.
The point of these two statements is to tell the people that He is the only God, not any other idols.

Isaiah 48:11 Hear this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and who came from the
waters of Judah, who swear by the name of the LORD and confess the God of Israel, but not in truth or right
5 I declared them to you from of old, before they came to pass I announced them to you, lest you should say,
My idol did them, my carved image and my metal image commanded them.
8 You have never heard, you have never known, from of old your ear has not been opened. For I knew that
you would surely deal treacherously, and that from before birth you were called a rebel.
9 For my names sake I defer my anger, for the sake of my praise I restrain it for you, that I may not cut you
off.
11 For my own sake, for my own sake, I do it, for how should my name be profaned? My glory
(Kabod/H3519) I will not give to another.
Vs1 The people swear by the name of the LORD, but not in truth or right.
Vs5 God reminds the people that he prophesied various events but the people would be acknowledging idols for it.
Vs8 God knew that the people were rebels against Him.
Vs9 God is close to cutting the people off, but restrains himself.
Vs11 God restrains Himself for His own sake, He will not give his glory to the idols. In some way meaning that if he
left the people they would follow the idols even more.
Summary:
Isaiah 42:8 The LORD God will not give his glory to another.
The LORD God will not give His praise to carved idols.
The point of these two statements is to tell the people that He is the only God, not any other idols.
Isaiah 48:11 God would not give his glory to another, meaning the idols.
It is my opinion that these passages are often misunderstood. It is my belief that God is saying he will not give his
glory to "another" meaning a so called god or idol. He cannot mean He wont give His glory to other people because
of the amount of passages where he does give his glory to other people including Jesus. Those passages are
overwhelming and will be shown later in Parts 5B-D.

Part 5B God Did Things For His Own Glory

The works for His own glory.
Isaiah 43:7 everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory (H3519/Kabowd), whom I
formed and made
God created people for His glory,
Isaiah 46:12-13 Listen to me, you stubborn of heart, you who are far from righteousness:
13 I bring near my righteousness; it is not far off, and my salvation will not delay; I will put salvation in
for Israel my glory. (H8597 Tipharah)

Zion,

Vs12
Vs13 The country of Israel is for Gods glory
Summary:
Isaiah 43:7 God created people for His glory,
Isaiah 46:13 The country of Israel is for Gods glory
The LORD God has done, in some way, everything for his own glory. These are just two statements in an overriding
theme.

Part 5C God Gave His Glory To Jesus

Does God give his glory to Jesus?

Daniel 7:13-14 came one like a son of man he came to the Ancient of Days and was presented before him
and to him was given dominion and glory (H3367/Yqar) and a kingdom that all people ..... should serve him....
The Son of Man, who we believe to be Jesus, was given glory by God
John 8:54 If I glorify (Doxazo/G1392) myself, my glory (Doxa/G1391) is nothing. It is my Father who
glorifies (Doxazo/G1392) me, of whom you say, "He is our God."
The Father glorifies Jesus
Hebr 1:3 he is the radiance of the glory (Doxa/G1391) of God and the exact imprint (G5481) of his nature
Radiance G541apaugasma: Word count 1: Effulgence, a state of being bright and radiant.
Jesus is the light of the world, so this description seems to fit well.
Exact Imprint G5481 Charakter: Word count 1: engraving, the exact figure stamped, representation, express image
Jesus is the image of God and his representative, so this description seems to fit well also.
Radiance and brightness, exact imprint and image. Jesus is the light.
Of the glory, of God, of his nature. Jesus is of God
Jesus is the light of God's glory.
Heb 2:7 you crowned him with glory (Doxa/G1391) and honor
God crowned Jesus with glory and honor.
God gave glory to Jesus.
Heb 2:9 namely Jesus, crowned with glory (Doxa/G1391) and honor
Jesus was crowned with glory, from God
Heb 3:3 Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory (Doxa/G1391) than Moses as much more glory as the
builder of a house has more honor than the house itself
The glory given from God to Jesus is compared to that given to Moses
Moses has some glory.
Jesus has more glory that Moses.
1 Peter 1:21 and through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory
(Doxa/G1391), so that your faith and hope are in God
God gave Jesus glory
2 Peter 1:17 For when he received honor and glory (Doxa/G1391) from God the Father, and the voice was
borne to him by the Majestic Glory (Doxa/G1391). This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.
God the Father gave glory to Jesus
Rev 5:12 Worthy is the lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor
and glory (Doxa/G1391) and blessing.
Jesus was slain to receive glory

Summary:
Daniel 7:13
John 8:43
Heb 1:3
Heb 2:7
Heb 2:9
Heb 3:3
1 Peter 1:21
2 Peter 1:17
Rev 5:12

The Son of Man was given glory by God

The Father glorifies Jesus
Jesus is the light of God's glory.
God crowned Jesus with glory and honor
Jesus was crowned with glory
Jesus has more glory that Moses
God the Father gave glory to Jesus
God the Father gave glory to Jesus
Jesus was slain to receive glory

Clearly on at least these nine occasions, God gave his glory to Jesus

Part 5C2 The Glory Of Christ

2 Cor 8:23 And as for our brothers, they are messengers of the churches, the glory (Doxa/G1391) of Christ
The messengers, or the churches, are the glory of Christ
2 Thess 2:14 so that you may obtain the glory (G1391/Doxa) of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Disciples obtain the glory of Christ
1 Peter 4:13 But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when
his glory (Doxa/G1391) is revealed.
Jesus glory will be revealed, perhaps on Judgment Day.
Summary:
2 Corinthians 8:23
The messengers, or the churches, are the glory of Christ
2 Thessalonians 2:14 Disciples obtain the glory of Christ
1 Peter 4:13
Jesus glory will be revealed, perhaps on Judgment Day.
The glory that was given by God to Christ is now given to us

Part 5D God Gave His Glory To People

Does God give his glory to people?
People Had God's Glory:
2 Samuel 1:19 Your glory (H6643 tsbiy), O Israel, lies slain on your heights. How the mighty have fallen!
The people of Israel have glory
NIV Psalm 3:3 But you are a shield around me, O LORD; you bestow glory (Kabowd/H3519) on me and lift
[Or LORD , / my Glorious One, who lifts ] up my head.
David says that God bestows glory on him.
Some translations do not say God gives his glory to people in this verse.
Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory (Kabowd/H3519) of the LORD has risen upon
you.

Vs1 the glory of the LORD has risen upon you

This means that God's glory was seen "upon" people at this time
This is a fulfillment of the prophecy of Isaiah 40:5 from Part 3B
John 12:43 for they loved the glory that comes from man more than the glory (Doxa/G1391) that comes from
God.
They should have loved the glory that comes from God.
Therefore there are times when the disciples received the glory from God.
1 Cor 11:7 since he is the image and glory (Doxa/G1391) of God, but woman is the glory of man.
Man is the glory of God.
Does this include all men?
1 Peter 4:14 because the Spirit of glory (Doxa/G1391) and of God rests upon you
The glory of God rests upon you
People Should Seek God's Glory:
Isaiah 60:2 For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and thick darkness the people; but the LORD will arise
upon you, and his glory (H3519/Kabowd) will be seen upon you.
Vs2 and his glory will be seen upon you.
This, combined with vs1, is a fulfillment of the prophecy of Isaiah 40:5 from Part 3B
John 5:44 How can you believe, when you receive glory (Doxa/G1391) from one another and do not seek
the glory (Doxa/G1391) that comes from the only God?
Jesus is telling the people to seek glory from God.
If they are told by Jesus to seek God's glory, there must have been times when they acheived and received it.
John 7:18 The one who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but the one who seeks the glory
(Doxa/G1391) of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood
Jesus is commending the people for seeking glory from God.
Therefore there must be occasions when they receive the glory
Romans 2:7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory (Doxa/G1391), honor and immortality, he
will give eternal life
8
But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.
9
There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile;
10
but glory(Doxa/G1391), honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.
11
For God does not show favoritism.
Vs7We disciples are seeking glory which means that we are going to receive it,
Vs9 Trouble and distress for the evil
Vs10 Glory for the Jew and Gentile
Vs11 These things come from God
Romans 5:2 and we rejoice in hope in the glory (Doxa/G1391) of God
We rejoice in the glory of God, these people recieved God's glory.

Colossians 1:27 which is Christ in you, the hope of glory (Doxa/G1391)

People hope for glory
Glory On Judgment Day:
Col 3:4 when Christ who is in your life appears, then you will also appear with him in glory (Doxa/G1391).
We, including Jesus, will appear in glory from God.
Jesus and disciples will be receiving the same glory from God.
1 Peter 5:4 And when the chief shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory
(Doxa/G1391)
Disciples will receive unfading crown of glory
Summary:
2 Samuel 1:19
Psalm 3:3
Isaiah 60:1
John 12:43
1 Cor 11:7
1 Peter 4:14

1000BC: The people of Israel have glory.

1000BC: David says God bestows glory on him.
700 BC: the glory of the LORD has risen upon you, and seen upon you
30 AD: They should have loved the glory that comes from God
80 AD: Man is the glory of God
80 AD: The glory of God rests upon you

Isaiah 60:2
John 5:44
John 7:18
Romans 2:7
Romans 5:2
Colossians 1:27

700BC: and his glory will be seen upon you.

30 AD: Jesus is telling the people to seek glory from God
30 AD: Jesus is commending the people for seeking glory from God.
80AD: Glory for those who do good, God doesn't show favoritism.
80 AD: We hope in the glory of God
80 AD: People hope for glory

Colossians 3:4
1 Peter 5:4

We will appear with Christ in glory, from God

Disciples will receive unfading crown of glory

Clearly on these thirteen occasions, people already had God's glory, should seek God's glory, or would be given God's
glory at a later date.

Part 5E Empty
Part 5F God In His NT Church Temple
Fulfilling the OT prophecies, God is coming to his earthly temple/Church.
In the OT it was a physical building, now it will be a spiritual physical building.
Jesus the Temple
Mathew 12:5-8 Or have you not read in the Law how on the Sabbath the priests in the temple profane the
Sabbath and are guiltless?
6 I tell you, something greater than the temple is here.
7 And if you had known what this means, I desire mercy, and not sacrifice, you would not have condemned
the guiltless.
8 For the Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath.

Jesus tells the Pharisees, "something greater than the temple is here"
John 2:18-21 So the Jews said to him, What sign do you show us for doing these things?
19 Jesus answered them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
20 The Jews then said, It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three
days?
21 But he was speaking about the temple of his body
Jesus said "destroy the temple and in three days I will raise it up"
Mathew 26:61 and said, This man said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to rebuild it in three
days.
In front of the High Priest, people quoting Jesus saying he would destroy the temple
Mark 14:57 And some stood up and bore false witness against him, saying,
58 We heard him say, I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build
another, not made with hands.
59Yet even about this their testimony did not agree.
In front of the High Priest, people quoting Jesus saying he would destroy the temple
Mathew 27:39 And those who passed by derided him, wagging their heads
40 and saying, You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself! If you are the
Son of God, come down from the cross.
On the cross, people are quoting Jesus saying he would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days.
Mark 15:29 And those who passed by derided him, wagging their heads and saying, Aha! You who would
destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days
On the cross, people are quoting Jesus saying he would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days
The End of the Old Temple:
Luke 23:44 It was now about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour, 45
while the suns light failed. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two.
46 Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, Father, into your hands I commit my spirit! And having
said this he breathed his last
Also Matthew 27:51 and Mark 15:38
Vs45 If it was the outer curtain then it was a public sign confirming Jesus' words of judgment on the temple, later
confirmed in 70AD when the temple in Jerusalem was razed. This is to signify the old way of accessing God through
the temples, altars, and priests, was replaced by Jesus.
Vs45 If it was the inner curtain it signified the end for any need of sacrifice, atonement and blood all of which Jesus
has now provided. Jesus provided direct access to God which the old covenant curtain had done.
That the curtain ripped from the top downwards shows it was God who ripped it, not men who would have started
from the bottom and worked upwards.
Personally I think it was either both curtains or the most significant curtain.
Parallels:
The dividing curtain which separated/linked people from God and Jesus were both torn in two.
This may have a relationship with Ezekiel 8-11 and the fall of the temple in the Babylonian era.
The New Temple/Church:
1 Corinthians 3:16 Do you not know that you are Gods temple and that Gods Spirit dwells in you?

17 If

anyone destroys Gods temple, God will destroy him. For Gods temple is holy, and you are that
temple.
Vs16 The people of the Church are God's temple and God's Spirit lives/dwells in them.
Vs17 Each disciple is Gods holy temple.
2 Corinthians 6:15-18 What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an
unbeliever?
16 What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said,
I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my
people.
17 Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing;
then I will welcome you,
18 and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty.
Vs16 The people/disciples of the Church, then and now, are the temple of the living God
Vs16 Quoting God from the OT 1 Kings 6:11-13, Zechariah 2:10-11, Zechariah 8:3, also in Revelation 21:3
Vs17-18 A partial description of what it means to be God's temple.
Ephesians 2:18 For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father
19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the
household of God,
20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,
21 in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.
22 In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit
Vs19 The disciples are members of the household of God
Vs20 The prophets and apostles are the foundation, Jesus is the cornerstone. When creating a physical structure the
foundations are put in place first followed by the laying of the first stone, the cornerstone.
Vs21The whole structure is the body of disciples who, combined, are the temple/Church
Vs22 The disciples are the temple where God now lives, the Church, through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
Future Problems:
NIV 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the
rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction.
4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets
himself up in Gods temple, proclaiming himself to be God.
The future problems will come from inside the Church
Judgment Day
Revelation 3:12 The one who conquers, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God. Never shall he go out
of it, and I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem,
which comes down from my God out of heaven, and my own new name.
The temple here is perhaps symbolic of the permanent place in heaven for disciples.
Revelations 21:22 And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the
Lamb.
23 And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory (Doxa/G1391)
of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb.
Vs22 John saw no physical temple, the temple is the Lord God and Jesus.

Revelation 11:1 Then I was given a measuring rod like a staff, and I was told, Rise and measure the temple of
God and the altar and those who worship there,
Perhaps John is being asked to measure how many people are in the temple/Church of God.
Summary:
Mathew 12:5-8
Jesus tells the Pharisees, "something greater than the temple is here"
John 2:18-21
Jesus said "destroy the temple and in three days I will raise it up"
Mathew 26:61
In front of the High Priest, people quoting Jesus saying he would destroy the temple
Mark 14:57
In front of the High Priest, people quoting Jesus saying he would destroy the temple
Mathew 27:39
On the cross, people quoting Jesus saying he'd destroy the temple and rebuild it in 3 days.
Mark 15:29
On the cross, people quoting Jesus saying he'd destroy the temple and rebuild it in 3 days.
Luke 23:44-46, Matthew 27:51 and Mark 15:38 The temple curtain was torn in two, the old way of accessing God
through the temples, altars, priests, atonement, sacrifice and blood was replaced by Jesus.
1 Corinthians 3:16
Disciples, both individually and combined, are God's holy temple/Church, and God's Spirit
lives/dwells in them.
2 Corinthians 6:16
Quoting the OT, disciples of the Church, then and now, are the temple of the living God.
Ephesians 2:22
disciples are the temple/Church where God lives, through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
2 Thessalonians 2:4 The future problems will come from inside the Church
Revelation 3:12
The temple here is perhaps symbolic of the permanent place in heaven for disciples.
Revelation 21:22
John saw no physical temple, the temple is the Lord God and Jesus.
Revelation 11:1
Perhaps John is being asked to measure how many people are in the temple/Church of God.
Three extremely significant things have now happened and been identified here.
1/ Jesus death signified the end of the OT temple
2/ Jesus is the cornerstone, the first physical body to be God's spiritual temple.
3/ Each individual disciple, and all disciples together, is/are God's spiritual temple the Church.
In the OT God came in his glory to the physical temple, in the NT God comes in his Holy Spirit to our fleshly temple.
God now lives with us and in us.

Part 6A God Will Come On Judgment Day

God is coming at the end of times
Zechariah 14:5 Then the LORD will come, and all the holy ones with him.
A prophecy of Judgment Day
Mathew 16:27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory (Doxa/G1391)
of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done
Jesus will come in the glory of his Father, perhaps in the big cloud, or the darkness, or the fire
Mathew 26:64 But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the
Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven."
The "clouds of heaven" could be like the clouds in the OT that lead the Israelites from Pharoah, or the clouds of
darkness that came with the glory of the LORD to the OT temples.
Who is the Mighty One at Jesus left?

Joshua 22:22 "The Mighty One, God, the LORD! The Mighty One, God, the LORD! He knows! And
let Israel know! If this has been in rebellion or disobedience to the LORD, do not spare us this day.
Psalm 50:1 The Mighty One, God, the LORD, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the
sun to the place where it sets.
Jesus is at the right and God is at the left then they are next to each other and with each other. Two of them.
They are both coming together at the end of times, God and Jesus coming on heavenly clouds.

Part 8A God is With the People in the OT

The Old Testament tells us on several occasions that the LORD God was "with" his people however it did not mean at
any time that God had come in a human body or was there physically. When the LORD God was said to be "with" his
people in the Old Testament it is a reference to Him being with them in plan and purpose.
Psalm 46:4-11 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy habitation of the Most
High.
5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved; God will help her when morning dawns.
6 The nations rage, the kingdoms totter; he utters his voice, the earth melts.
7 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
8 Come, behold the works of the LORD, how he has brought desolations on the earth.
9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the
chariots with fire.
10 Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
11 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Vs5 God is in the "midst of her" in reference to the people of the city of God
Vs7 The LORD of hosts is "with us"
Vs11The LORD of hosts is "with us"
Haggai 2:1-5 In the seventh month, on the twenty-first day of the month, the word of the LORD came by the
hand of Haggai the prophet,
2 Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the
high priest, and to all the remnant of the people, and say,
3 Who is left among you who saw this house in its former glory? How do you see it now? Is it not as
nothing in your eyes?
4 Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, declares the LORD. Be strong, O Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high
priest. Be strong, all you people of the land, declares the LORD. Work, for I am with you, declares the LORD
of hosts,
5 according to the covenant that I made with you when you came out of Egypt. My Spirit remains in your
midst. Fear not.
Vs4 declares the LORD. "For I am with you"
Vs5 "My spirit remains in your midst"
The LORD is with them, spiritually.

2 Chronicles 13:11-12 They offer to the LORD every morning and every evening burnt offerings and
incense of sweet spices, set out the showbread on the table of pure gold, and care for the golden lamp stand
that its lamps may burn every evening. For we keep the charge of the LORD our God, but you have forsaken
him.
12 Behold, God is with us at our head, and his priests with their battle trumpets to sound the call to battle
against you. O sons of Israel, do not fight against the LORD, the God of your fathers, for you cannot
succeed.
we are told "God is with us at our head" but no one assumes it means Yahweh was there in a human body.
(Also see 2 Chron 15:2; 20:17). David says that although he walks through the valley of the shadow of death
he fears no evil, because YHWH is "with him" (Ps 23:4).
The idea of God being "with" someone in a spiritual and functional sense rather than a spatial and physical sense is a
common expression in the Scriptures. For God to be with Israel, for example, meant He was with them in plan and
purpose as opposed to being against them.
Isaiah 8:8-10 and it will sweep on into Judah, it will overflow and pass on, reaching even to the neck, and
its outspread wings will fill the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.
9 Be broken, you peoples, and be shattered; give ear, all you far countries; strap on your armor and be
shattered; strap on your armor and be shattered.
10 Take counsel together, but it will come to nothing; speak a word, but it will not stand, for God is with us.
Vs10 Isaiah has already told us in chapter seven that God is "with" Ahaz and now in chapter eight He confirms it
again.
Summary:
Psalm 46:4-11
God is in the "midst of her" and The LORD of hosts is "with us"
Haggai 2:1-5
declares the LORD. "For I am with you" and "My spirit remains in your midst"
2 Chron 13:11-12
"God is with us at our head"
Isaiah 8:8-10
for God is with us.
When the scripture says that God is "with" the people it means spiritually and functionally rather that spatially and
physically. He is "with" them in plan and purpose.
(Some say that there is a difference between a passage saying "God with us" or "God is with us," I am unsure what
the claim is.)

Part 8B God is "With" People in the NT and Now.

It is interesting that God was with His people in the NT just as He was in the OT.
God is with His People
Acts 7:9 And the patriarchs, jealous of Joseph, sold him into Egypt, but God was with him
Acts 14:27 the church declared all that God had done with them
Acts 15:4 the apostles and the elders declared all that God had done with them
1 Cor 15:10 but the grace of God that is with me
Phil 2:9 practice these things and the God of peace will be with you
As in the OT, God was with His people in the NT in plan and purpose.
Luke 1:26-28 In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named
Nazareth,
27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. And the virgins name was
Mary.
28 And he came to her and said, Greetings, O favored one, the Lord is with you!

Vs28 What does "the Lord is with you" mean? Does this mean that Gabriel is the Lord? Does it mean that Gabriel the
Lord is with Mary and therefore Mary is Gabriel the Lord? This passage means that God is with Mary in a way that
he is supporting her in plan and purpose.
God Was With Jesus in the NT
Mathew 12:28 it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons
John 3:2 Rabbi we know you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do
unless God is with him
John 14:10 the Father who dwells in me, does his works
Acts 2:22 Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that
God did through him.
Acts 2:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power
God was with Jesus in the NT which enabled him to do powerful acts.

Just as God was with Israel in the OT in plan and purpose, he was "with" his people in the NT, and he was "with"
Jesus is a similar way. For God to be "with" anyone did not mean he was that person, but that he was in support of
them.
Summaries Restated and Overall Conclusion
Part 1A
The general viewpoint of the people of the OT, from these eight passages, was that if they saw the
LORD God they would die.
If Jesus is God when in time does the bible say that people dont die if they see God?
Part 1B

Jesus said no one has ever seen the Father.

Paul said God is invisible.
Timothy said God is invisible, lives in unapproachable light, and no one has seen or can see.
John says no one has ever seen God yet he spent numerous years seeing Jesus.
Jesus, John, Paul and Timothy all say God is invisible, has not and cannot be seen. Therefore none
of them could have understood Jesus to be God!

Part 2F

As per Samuel, Psalms, Isaiah, Habakkuk and Jonah, the LORD God has a heavenly temple where
he was and is

Part 3A

These four passages say God would be coming and in each instance and in some way God did
come. The timing is never specifically identified however it seemed to have usually happened in
some way either immediately after, or within a few years.
None of these prophectic scriptures of God's coming are waiting to be fulfilled.

Part 3A2

These four passages are different from Part 3A in that they say God would be coming but he
actually sent other people in his stead in each instance. God had representitives do His work. There
is more detail of how each prophecy was fulfilled and who came in his stead in Part 4A2.
None of these prophectic scriptures of God's coming are waiting to be fulfilled.

Part 3B

God's glory would be coming. The term "glory of the LORD" is in the bible 38 times and nearly all
the occurrences are describing the fulfillments, rather than prophecies, of the appearance of the
"glory of the LORD.'
None of these prophectic scriptures of God's glory coming are waiting to be fulfilled.

Part 3B2

The fulfillments of each of these three prophecies when people will see God's glory can be seen in
Part 4B2.
None of these prophectic scriptures of God's glory coming are waiting to be fulfilled.

Part 3C

God will dwell/live in a house/tent of meeting

Solomon realizes that God doesn't dwell in houses as heaven cannot contain him.
There are no passages in Part 4C to fulfill these two passages, however in Part 4D there are many
that reveal God's glory living in a building.

Part 3D

Empty

Part 3E

1 Kings 6:11-13
950 BC: the LORD will dwell among the people
Zechariah 2:10-11
520 BC: the LORD will dwell in your midst
Revelation 21:3
80 AD: the dwelling place of God will be with man
Both OT passages will become fulfilled later in each book. Revelation is yet to happen

Part 3F

Zechariah 6:12 Near Fulfillment: A man, called the branch, Joshua the priest along with
Zerubbabel, Zechariah and Haggai would rebuild the OT temple which was completed in 516BC
approx.
Zechariah 6:12 Far Fulfillment: A man, called the branch, Jesus, will come from his place in
heaven to build the temple on the earth. The temple is the Church is God's house. Jesus is the
cornerstone, the disciples are the building.
OT Joshua and NT Jesus are both the Branch, High Priest, King, have virtually the same name, and
are servants of God
The fulfillments of Parts 3A-E are shown in Parts 4A-E
It seems that Part 3C is fulfilled in Part 4D, through His glory.

Part 4A

There is a large amount of scriptures that God to appeared to many including Abraham, Isaac,
Jacob, Moses, Solomon, Job and others.
Several passages in Part 1 and Part 2 say no one has seen God, nor can they see God and live. So
the question is what happened in the OT? What were the people looking at? Personally, I don't
know.
It is interesting to note that of all times God came to these people it was only in the case of Moses
and Solomon where there was a previous prophecy which later became fulfilled. These were
identified in Part 3A.

Part 4A2

Isaiah 31:4
God would come, fulfilled when the angel of death came in
Isaiah 35:2-6 "He will come and save you" fulfilled when king Cyrus came in
Jeremiah 11:22 I will punish them" fulfilled when King Nebuchadnezzar came in
Micah 1:3 The LORD will be coming, fulfilled when the Assyrian army came

Isaiah 37:36
Isaiah 44:28
Isaiah 32-39
2 kings 18-19

Here are four major instances when the LORD God said he was coming but had a representative, or
many, come on His behalf.
Part 4B

The glory of the LORD God came and appeared to many, including these thirteen passages, on
numerous different occasions.

Part 4B2

Ezek 28:22 God would send blood into their streets, fulfilled when the Sidonians died Ezek 32:30
Ezekiel 39:13 God would show His glory, perhaps fulfilled during the clean up operation.
God said he would manifest or show his glory and did so through these people.

Part 4C

Empty

Part 4D

The glory of the LORD God filled various places including tabernacles, houses, temples, courts.
Most of them fulfilling earlier prophecies.

Part 4E

Exodus 20:20-21
1350 BC: God was in the thick darkness where Moses went to speak to him.
Exodus 43:6-9
1350 BC: LORD God will dwell in the midst of the people of Israel forever
Psalm 68:7-16
1000 BC: The LORD God will dwell in his abode, Jerusalem, forever among
Psalm 132:13-14
1000 BC: the LORD will rest and dwell in Jerusalem forever
Zechariah 8:3
500 BC: The fulfillment of the prophecy from Zechariah 2:10-11
All dates are approximate.
These passages say that God was living among, and would live among, the people from then
onwards

Part 4F

2 Chron 7:1 The glory of the LORD filled the temple

2 Chron 7:3 The glory of the LORD was on the temple
Ezekiel 43:4 The glory of the LORD was in the temple
Ezekiel 44:4 The glory of the LORD was in the temple

Part 5A

Isaiah 42:8 The LORD God will not give his glory to another.
The LORD God will not give His praise to carved idols.
The point of these two statements is to tell the people that He is the only God, not any other idols.
Isaiah 48:11 God would not give his glory to another, meaning the idols.
It is my opinion that these passages are often misunderstood. It is my belief that God is saying he
will not give his glory to "another" meaning a so called god or idol. He cannot mean He wont give
His glory to other people because of the amount of passages where he does give his glory to other
people including Jesus. Those passages are overwhelming and will be shown later in Parts 5B-D.

Part 5B

Isaiah 43:7 God created people for His glory,

Isaiah 46:13 The country of Israel is for Gods glory
The LORD God has done, in some way, everything for his own glory. These are just two
statements in an overriding theme.

Part 5C

Daniel 7:13 The Son of Man was given glory by God

John 8:43
The Father glorifies Jesus
Heb 1:3
Jesus is the light of God's glory.
Heb 2:7
God crowned Jesus with glory and honor
Heb 2:9
Jesus was crowned with glory
Heb 3:3
Jesus has more glory that Moses
1 Peter 1:21 God the Father gave glory to Jesus
2 Peter 1:17 God the Father gave glory to Jesus
Rev 5:12
Jesus was slain to receive glory
Clearly on at least these nine occasions, God gave his glory to Jesus

Part 5C2

2 Corinthians 8:23
The messengers, or the churches, are the glory of Christ
2 Thessalonians 2:14 Disciples obtain the glory of Christ
1 Peter 4:13
Jesus glory will be revealed, perhaps on Judgment Day.
The glory that was given by God to Christ is now given to us

Part 5D

2 Samuel 1:19
Psalm 3:3
Isaiah 60:1
John 12:43
1 Cor 11:7
1 Peter 4:14

1000BC: The people of Israel have glory.

1000BC: David says God bestows glory on him.
700 BC: the glory of the LORD has risen upon you, and seen upon you
30 AD: They should have loved the glory that comes from God
80 AD: Man is the glory of God
80 AD: The glory of God rests upon you

Isaiah 60:2
John 5:44
John 7:18
Romans 5:2
Colossians 1:27

700BC: and his glory will be seen upon you.

30 AD: Jesus is telling the people to seek glory from God
30 AD: Jesus is commending the people for seeking glory from God.
80 AD: We hope in the glory of God
80 AD: People hope for glory

Colossians 3:4
1 Peter 5:4

We will appear with Christ in glory, from God

Disciples will receive unfading crown of glory

Clearly on these thirteen occasions, people already had God's glory, should seek God's glory, or
would be given God's glory at a later date.

Part 5F

Three extremely significant things have now happened and been identified here.
1/ Jesus death signified the end of the OT temple
2/ Jesus is the cornerstone, the first physical body to be God's spiritual temple.
3/ Each individual disciple, and all disciples together, is/are God's spiritual temple the Church.
In the OT God came in his glory to the physical temple, in the NT God comes in his Holy Spirit to
our fleshly temple.

Part 6A

Zechariah 14:5
A prophecy of Judgment Day
Mathew 16:27

Part 8A

Psalm 46:4-11
God is in the "midst of her" and The LORD of hosts is "with us"

declares the LORD. "For I am with you" and "My spirit remains in your midst"
2 Chron 13:11-12
"God is with us at our head"
Isaiah 8:8-10
for God is with us.
When the scripture says that God is "with" the people it means spiritually and functionally rather
that spatially and physically. He is "with" them in plan and purpose.

Part 8B

Acts 7:9
Acts 14:27
Acts 15:4
1 Cor 15:10
Phil 2:9

And the patriarchs, jealous of Joseph, sold him into Egypt, but God was with him
the church declared all that God had done with them
the apostles and the elders declared all that God had done with them
but the grace of God that is with me
practice these things and the God of peace will be with you

Luke 1:28

Mathew 12:28 it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons

John 3:2
Rabbi ...... no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him
John 14:10
the Father who dwells in me, does his works
Acts 2:22
Jesus of Nazareth, wonders and signs that God did through him.
Acts 2:38
how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power
Just as God was with Israel in the OT in plan and purpose, he was "with" his people in the NT, and
he was "with" Jesus is a similar way. For God to be "with" anyone did not mean he was that person,
but that he was in support of them.
Overall Conclusion:
This overall conclusion will always be very difficult to understand because there is always the information provided
in Parts 1-2 that say that the people of both the Old and New Testament believed that if they saw God they would die.
The people of the New Testament usually said no one has seen God or can see God. This information must always
stand.
As shown throughout this analysis there are numerous prophecies and fulfillments that say God did come in some
way, all of which happened in the Old Testament. God said he was coming, and did come. He said he was coming,
and sent representatives, people or angels. He said he was coming in his glory, or that his glory was coming, and it
did come in several different ways and sometimes through representatives. God or His glory came to people or to the
OT temple, it or He came to the temple after it was rebuilt in the times of Zechariah and Malachi.
There are several more passages that say God, or His glory, had come than there were propheciess of Him or His
glory coming. It is interesting to note that the two passages that say God would not give his glory to others, cannot
mean exactly that because of the many times He does give His glory to others. There are numerous passages where
God gives His glory to Jesus, and numerous passages where God gives His glory to people.
As per Part 5F Three extremely significant things have now happened and been identified here.
God now lives in us and with us.
All of the OT"Jesus is God" proof texts ( 1 Kings 8: Isaiah 40:3-5, Isaiah 42:8, Isaiah 48:11, and Zechariah 2:10,)
were shown to have been fulfilled in the OT when the temple was rebuilt around 520BC approx. Several other proof
texts can now be addressed in a different way, they are Malachi 3:1-3, Mathew 1:23, Mathew 3:3, Mark 1:3, Luke
3:4-6, and John 1:23.
This study has therefore eliminated any possibility that because God said He and/or His glory was coming, Jesus
must be God. It also eliminated the possibility that because God gave His glory to Jesus, Jesus must be God.
