Why a 9th Grade Core Curriculum Lesson?


Research says

Going over 4-year plans with students ensures that students set academic goals, graduate on
time, and are taking the right courses for admission to a university (Stone).

...establishing goals increases academic motivation (Latham & Locke, 2007).

Students with low academic achievement often show ineffective study skills (Gettinger & Seibert,
2002).

Approximately half of American students attending public schools in the country are not prepared
for higher education and lack skills for future success (Ford Foundation, 2014).
