This article went through and observed different states and their levels of
gerrymandering. In the election last year, republicans in North Carolina and
Maryland went a little crazy in drawing congressional districts. In contrast, the two
states with the least amount of gerrymandering included Nevada and Indiana.
Gerrymandered districts are obvious; they are long, thin and have spanned the
width of almost an entire state. Some examples:

Scotland began having anti-British sentiments and wanted to break off to enjoy the
freedoms of their own country. However strong the movement, there's a lot to be
said for the problems that come with breaking off from the UK. The biggest, being
them needing to get off the euro and print their own money. They also would not be
a part of the European Union right away and would need to go through that process
to be allowed in. That said, the vote failed to pass and Scotland stays as a part of
the UK.

A poll taken in Venezuela, a country considered to be a part of the "bad left" in
terms of anti-democratic government, recently showed that 87% of people polled in
the country agree that democracy is preferable to any other type of government.
The problem however, is that many of them consider their current government to be

semi-democratic. That being said, many are happy with their current living
conditions and don't blame their government for problems.
