ABSTRACT
Petrophysical data used in common reservoir modelling are: net
reservoir, porosity, permeability and water saturation. The data are acquired from well-log and core sample analysis from drilling activity. However, these data are usually provided without their quantitative uncertainties. Monte Carlo simulation with 1000 realization is proposed to create input variation on volumetric Original Oil in Place (OOIP) calculation in Sand A1 reservoir, X Field. OOIP uncertainties are observed from the method mentioned above by changing particular petrophysical parameters, such as: reservoir thickness (h), porosity () and water saturation (Sw). The calculation result indicates that the maximum reservoir thickness makes the largest OOIP and the lowest porosity () makes the smallest OOIP. In addition to that, the change in porosity () results in the largest difference to the normal condition while the change in reservoir thickness (h) results in the broadest range of uncertainties.
