Sharing what we know about day and night as well as the four seasons. We will be using Pajama Day to
discuss what the appropriate thing to wear is for different times of the day. We will also be making some
crafts and drawing pictures that remind us of the different types of weather.

English

In Literacy this week we focus on:

Recapping the sight words we have learned, reading these words in print, writing them and saying them aloud. The
children will also play a sight word bingo game to reinforce this knowledge.
We are also continuing with the skill of blending the sounds together to read and write CVC words. The children will
use different vowel sounds to find the correct one for initial and end sounds.
We will be carrying out or writing assessment as well which will determine which stage of writing the children are
now at. The children will be reading Oxford Reading Tree books individually using the pictures to help them read the
words they dont know.

Math

The children are learning all about Patterns in Math. They will look at different objects and identify the odd one out
using criteria such as shape, color and size. The children will continue the pattern of colors on a worksheet and they
will find the person in the class with the same matching card as them. As a whole class the children will continue the
movement pattern.
The students will also be assessed on their knowledge of spatial awareness.

encourage them to sound put any words they are not sure of and for them to use the pictures as clues.
Numeracy: Ask children if they can see any patterns in and around the home or in the community.
UOI: Ask children to look at the sky at night and then during the day. Get the children to describe what they see
