Summary:
Strongly interested in neuroscience, particularly in the use of computation in the analysis and
modeling of cell-to-cell interactions, connectivity and systems neuroscience. Drawn to the use of
modeling tools to develop technologies, therapies and medications. Goal oriented, enthusiastic,
follows procedures methodically and precisely, detail oriented, and inquisitive and eager to branch
out in knowledge and skills.
Used MATLAB to analyze data measuring the Electrodermal Response (EDR) and Respiratory Sinus
Arrhythmia (RSA) as an indicator of stress and fear in toddlers. This study measures the
physiological ability for children to respond to and recover from stress and fear inducing situations,
and how that ability changes over time (2011-2012).
Performing experiments measuring eye movement, neural responses, and behavior studies as a
reflection of vestibular function in response to prosthetic stimulation in non-human primates.
Significant role in experiments adapting non-human primates to artificial stimulation of the
vestibular nerve using prosthesis. Ultimate goal is to more effectively compensate for vestibular
loss in patients by using the vestibular prosthesis. Primary data analyst, primate caregiver, and
laboratory assistant. In the process of writing a paper documenting results (June 2012 Present).
Reconstructing mouse visual cortical neurons fluorescently labeled in vivo and imaged with a
confocal microscope. Also contributing to the Vaa3D source code. This work allows for the
visualization and analysis of visual cortical neuron morphology, and contributes to the Mindscope
Project, the premise of which is to understand visual processing using a multidisciplinary approach
(June 2014 - Present).
Volunteer caregiver and activity coordinator for wheelchair-bound children. Involved knowledge
and implementation of emergency procedures, and organization of day-trips to involve children in
experiences outside the hospital (2009-2011).
Active participant in cultural programs performing music and dance, as well as fundraising for
social causes. Promoter of awareness of South Asian culture to strengthen Bengali community in
Portland-Beaverton area (1999-Present).
Senior Leader and Coordinator of Jesuit High School Mock Trial Team (2009-2011)
Member of the National Honors Society and Spanish National Honors Society (2009-2011)
Co-Creator of Honors Science Program for Health and Science School (2008)

Experience in Vaa3D, Java, C++, Python, Fortran, R, Spike2, Fiji. Functional user of MATLAB and
Microsoft Office.
