Your Blood
Your blood
As blood flows around your
body, it is constantly working
to feed, clean, and supply
oxygen. The nutrients from
food are carried by blood to
feed your body cells, and all
the waste products are
carried away by blood to
keep the cells clean. Blood
carries oxygen to every part
of your body.
Whats in Blood
Blood has 4 main parts plasma, red cells, white cells,
and platelets. Plasma is a
pale yellow liquid, that
contains many different
substances that you need for
energy and growth. Tiny red
cells carry oxygen. White
cells fight germs and clean
the blood. Platelets help
blood to clot.

Circulatory System sends fighters to
help you fight off your sickness. It also
carries chemical messengers which carry
instructions from one part of the body to
another part of the body.

*Both the right and left atriums are a collecting chamber
for blood returning to the heart
Ventricle

chamber to the lower chamber
*You feel the power of a heartbeat as the ventricle
contracts and blood is forced out of the heart through a
large vessel

blood in which corpuscles or fat globules are
suspended
*90% of water is plasma

*More than 1/2 of your blood is plasma, about 55%
Facts

through your body per minute.
*The most numerous blood cells in your
