What is ICNA – Islamic Circle of North America?

Islamic Circle of North America is a leading grass roots organization which seeks to obtain the
pleasure of Allah (SWT) through working for the establishment of Islam in all spheres of life.
ICNA has many projects, programs, and activities which are designed to help in the process of
molding the individual and reforming society at large.

Goal

The goal of ICNA shall be to seek the pleasure of Allah (SWT) through the struggle of Iqamat-
ud-Deen (establishment of the Islamic system of life) as spelled out in the Qur'an and the Sunnah
of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

Program

1. To invite mankind to submit to the Creator by using all means of communications.

2. To motivate Muslims to perform their duty of being witnesses unto mankind by their
words and deeds.
3. To organize those who agree to work for this cause in the discipline of ICNA.
4. To offer educational and training opportunities to increase Islamic knowledge, to enhance
character, and to develop skills for all those who are associated with ICNA.
5. To oppose immorality and oppression in all forms, and support efforts for civil liberties
and socio-economic justice in the society.
6. To strengthen the bond of humanity by serving all those in need anywhere in the world,
with special focus on our neighborhood across North America.
7. To cooperate with other organizations for the implementation of this program and unity
in the ummah.

What is GainPeace.com?

GainPeace, an outreach project of Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), was initiated to
share Islam with non-Muslim and to clarify many misconceptions they may hold due to biased
reporting in the Media. To this effect, GainPeace has initiated a toll-free telephone line, 1-800-
662-ISLAM, where anyone can call between 9:00 am – 9:00 pm, all week and ask questions,
arrange for a visit to the Mosque, invite a Muslims speaker, request free Quran translation and
Islamic Brochures in English and Spanish languages. Trained volunteers are available to receive
calls and process all requests.

GainPeace, has a series of speakers who are available to speak and discuss various topics related
to spiritual and current issues. GainPeace display booths are also available upon request to
various organization and events. These booths contain brochures on various topics, copies of the
Quran in English and Spanish, audio CDs etc.

The flagship project of GainPeace is the service provided to new Muslims. Gainpeace has an
elaborate support system where upon receiving a shahada, a welcome package is dispatched to
the new Muslims. Then our buddy system comes into play where by a senior member of
GainPeace, who has received formal training to assist new Muslims, is assigned as a mentor.
Weekly college style classes are offered in two locations where by a new Muslim can learn their
newly embraced faith and mingle with other new Muslims for support and friendship. Yearly
conference for new Muslims hosted by GainPeace and is well attended and appreciated by the
reverts.

Why Dawah?

Do you know that at one time, as you move up on your pedigree, one of your ancestors was a
pagan, worshipping creation and idols? How did our ancestors accept Islam? Well, Prophet
Muhammad (saw) and Sahaba (ra), struggled with their time, wealth and lives, to make sure that
the message of Islam can be delivered to our pagan ancestors in regions of Africa, Asia, Europe,
Indian subcontinent. It is due to these immense sacrifices that we can call ourselves Muslims.

Sahaba (ra) could have been contempt with believing and practicing Islam and being part of the
best generation, they could have stay put in Madinah, holding annual conferences, or isolating
themselves in the Masajids, doing zikr etc, but they knew that the message of Islam was meant
for all of humanity and they made sure that it reached far and wide.

Us, we don't have to struggle with any barriers to come here to USA. We, or our parents, came
here in the comfort of a plane, now residing amidst an ocean of darkness, 300 million individuals
waiting to hear the message of Islam. What are we doing about it?

Some of us may be saying that we don't have time, ability or talent to do Dawah. Fine, try your
best and meanwhile support financially those individuals and organizations who are dedicated to
the cause of Dawah, ICNA, MCC, IIIE and others are struggling financially and you can pitch in
to support them in many Dawah endeavors these organizations are undertaking.

Remember, 46% of the USA population associates Islam with violence. They are fed this
negative propaganda day in and day out. Who will correct this misinformation and who will
explain Islam to 300 million people? It is you, me and the Muslim Ummah in this part of the
world. If we don't fulfill this obligation of Dawah as mentioned in the Quran 16:125, 2.143 etc,
then don't be surprised if the number of hate crimes increase, our liberties restricted, our
Masajids closed and practicing of Islam altogether banned! Scary? Yes, and our Muslim
Ummah have passed through such calamities many times in history. The Spanish Inquisition of
1492, when Muslims, who ruled Spain for 750 years, were banned from practicing Islam,
forcefully converted, burned at stake or thrown out into the sea. In recent times came the
ethnic/religious cleansing in Bosnia where Muslims, who were living with non-Muslims for
centuries, but due to lack of Dawah and practice of Islam and increase of hatred against Muslim,
eventual catastrophe descended on Bosnian Muslims and the whole world were mere
spectators. May Allah (swt) protect us from such shame and disgrace.

My dear Muslims, with or without us, Allah's (swt) deen of Al-Islam will be spreading far and
wide as is prophesized in the Quran (61:9). If we become part and parcel of being helpers of
Allah (swt) we will be rewarded in this life and the hereafter, if we neglect our obligation of
Dawah we may be held accountable in the hereafter and we may be humiliated with the hands of
non-Muslims in this life.Let pray to Allah (swt) to assist us in fulfilling our obligation of
learning, practicing and conveying Islam. Aameen.

Importance and Necessity of Dawah

Obligation of Dawah

Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful
preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most
gracious…(16:125)

Who is better in speech than one who calls (men) to God,

works righteousness, and says, "I am of those who bow in
Islam"? (41:33)

Thus, have We made of you an Ummat justly balanced, that you might be witnesses over the nations,
and the Apostle a witness over yourselves…(2:143)

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)‘Pass on the Message from me, even if it be a single verse.’
(Bukhari, hadith 3462)

Inviting others to Islam is also a Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (s) and all the 124,000 Prophets and
Messenger (peace be upon all) appointed by Allah (swt).

How did the Shahaba (companions of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) perceived the above
verses of the Quran?

The World is Plagues with Evil, Problems & Suffering:

Why the need for this Dawah course?

When a person goes to a doctor with some ailment, the doctor will not immediately give him the
medication and sends him home. The patient is first seen by the nurse who takes the
temperature, blood pressure, weight, height etc. Secondly, the doctor will ask the patient some
questions regarding the details of his ailment, performs some physical examination and if needed
sends him for blood tests etc. When all data is available, then and only then the doctors makes
the proper diagnosis and then prescribes the proper treatment specific to that person and his
background. Thus, the form of medication (liquid, capsule, tablet, injection), how much to give
(half a tablet), when to give (morning, before meals etc.), what is it mixed with (water, other
medication etc.). This is done because each person is different, each disease is different and each
treatment is different. Thus, by assigning the correct medication, the appropriate amount, at the
right time etc. will provide the maximal impact on the body of the person. Thus to provide the
best treatment, all the necessary data on the patient is necessary, including his or her background.

Likewise, for us to effectively perform dawah on a group or an individual we should possess as

much data on him, his religious background, which denomination he belongs to, educational
background, race, ethnicity, nationality etc, so we can cater our dawah methodology to that
individual. The examples and analogies we use to explain tauheed, the choice of words we use
to explain Islam, the historical accounts we use etc, will be different when we are doing dawah to
a college professor compared to a high school graduate or a housewife.

It is my hope and prayer that some benefit can come out from the contents of this book to assist
in our dawah endeavors to Christians.

How to present Islam?

There is only one God. No one has seen God, but we know God through the names or attributes God
has given for Himself. God is the Creator, thus He alone created all things that are
existing. God is the Sustainer, thus He alone is controlling the whole universe,
provided us with the water, air and food. Our Creator, God, is a loving God and
wants to guide humanity, thus He sent His guidance to various prophets, Noah,
Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them). None of these
prophets of God worshiped other human beings, or saints, or idols or the sun or
the moon etc, they all worshiped and submitted to the guidance of One
God. Now, when you translate the concept 'submit to one God' into Arabic
language, you get the word 'Islam'. Thus all the prophets of God, came with the
faith of Islam (submission to one God and not to His creation).

Thus, when you enter Islam, you are not entering into a new faith, you are, in fact, entering the same
religion which Jesus and Moses and Abraham and Muhammad (peace be upon them) all believed in and
preached to their people. Thus, you are spiritually getting connected with all these great men of God.

Secondly, God is All-Just, and when a baby is born, he/she is not born with the stigma of sin. All babies
are pure and innocent and God has implanted a spiritual chip in each baby to recognize one true
God. Thus, if we leave the baby alone to grow up, without any outside influence, then the baby will
grow up to recognize, worship and submit to One God (which is Islam), manifest the natural inclination
God has implanted in him. All babies are born as Muslims (one who submits to one God).

So, when you enter Islam, you are not entering into a new faith, but the same faith as you were born
with, which was Islam. You are 'reverting back' to the same truth, purity and innocence as you were
born with!

The best reward which a person obtains when he/she enters Islam is the peace of mind in this world (by
knowing that the purpose of life is to worship one God) and by obtaining eternal PARADISE in the
hereafter.

With that said, I invite you to embrace Islam and start following the way of life lived by all the Prophets
of God.

To enter Islam, all a person needs to do is to recite a simple phrase which should come from a person's
heart: I bear witness that there is no diety worthy of worship except Allah, and I bear witness that
Muhammad is the slave and Messenger of Allah.

Dawah to Christians
Surrounded by 300 Million non-Muslim in USA, and faced with ever increasing
propaganda against Islam, Dawah in this part of the world is not just an
obligation but a necessity.
What follows below is a study of a group of people calling themselves Christians
and professing to be the followers of Prophet Jesus Christ (s).

Who is a Christian?

If we look at the dictionary definition of the word Christian, we get:

Anyone who calls himself a Christian

Anyone who follows the faith of Christianity

Who coined the word ‘Christian?’

It wasn’t God of the New Testament who labeled the early followers of Jesus as ‘Christians. It
was not Jesus either who said ‘You are now called Christians’. We may assume that it was the
early followers of Jesus who named themselves as Christians. Not so. The early disciples
travelled to the city of Antioch, Syria and over here they were first called as ‘Christians; by the
pagans of the city of Antioch (Syria). Therefore, it was unbelievers in Christ who coined the
name ‘Christians’.

Dawah Point: It is good to remind our Christian friends that the word ‘Muslim’ was given to us
by our Creator, Allah:

‘…It is He (Allah) Who has named you Muslims both before and in this (the Qur'an)…’ (Quran

Who coined the word ‘Christianity?’

Nobody. The word ‘Christianity’ does not occur in the entire Bible! Likewise, the word
‘Judaism’ does not occur in the entire Bible.

What is the Bible?

Bible is the name of the book which the Christians and Jews consider as ‘holy’ and
‘Word of God’. The entire book of the Bible contains 66 Booklets or books and is divided into
two parts. The first part of the Bible is referred to as Old Testament and the second part of the
Bible is referred to as New Testament.

Christians believe in the entire first part (Old Testament) and second part (New
Testament) of the Bible, but Jews only believe in the first part of the bible (Old Testament).
New Testament is written in Greek. Language of Jesus was Hebrew and Aramaic, not Greek.

Old Testaments starts with the creation of Heavens and the earth, Adam (s) and Eve (s)
ends with just before the birth of Jesus Christ (s).

New Testament starts with times around the birth of Jesus Christ (s), then life of his
companions and ends with prophecies of the last days, second coming of Jesus Christ (s) and
some aspects of hereafter.

Was Torah Written in the Lifetime of Moses (PBUH)?

According to the Jews, the first five books of the Old Testament were given to Moses. However,
internal evidence shows that they were written years after Moses passed away:

Old Testament, Book of Deuteronomy, Chapter 34, Verses 5-7, 10.

‘5 And Moses the servant of the LORD died there in Moab, as the LORD had said. 6 He
buried him in Moab, in the valley opposite Beth Peor, but to this day no one knows where his
grave is. 7 Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died….Since then, no prophet has
risen in Israel like Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face…’

Why so many different versions of the Bible (New Testament)

During the lifetime of Jesus Christ there is no record of anyone recording his sayings. After he
was gone some people started to write down the narrations about his birth, childhood, preaching,
and last days of his life before he was lifted up. The people who wrote down these narrations
include historians, new converts to Christianity, supposed eyewitnesses, supposed disciples.
These early narrations were about the life of Jesus Christ are known as gospels. These are in a
way synonymous with the seerah or biography of the Prophet. There were 10s of gospels
floating around in the land of Christians. They were not initially taken as ‘word of God’ by the
early Christians and later on each sect adopted their own compilation.

Who was Paul

Paul was born in 10 CE in the city of Tarsus, Turkey. His original name was saul, which was

How to Disprove Trinity

• The word 'Trinity' is not mentioned in the Bible
• Trinity = Jesus is also a 'god' = disproved earlier
• Trinity was formulated in the year 325 by Athanasius,
an Egyptian deacon from Alexandria at the Council of
Nicea presided by Emperor Constantine
- Three century after Jesus gone.
• Pagan influence
• Jesus and Moses and all prophets proclaimed the
Oneness of God:
Moses - Deut. 6:4 'Hear O Israel: the Lord, our God is
one Lord'
Jesus - Mark 12:29 hear O Israel: the Lord our God is
one Lord'

How to Disprove Original Sin

• God is All-Loving, compassionate, merciful and forgiving
• Start with a practical example e.g... a father who is displeased with his son
and punished him and then goes on to punish the children of his son, and
then his great grandchildren, etc. Will you consider this father a loving,
caring and forgiving father?
• Then how can you credit God such a heinous injustice of ascribing Adam's
and Eve's sin to the progeny born even after thousands of years?
• Children: kingdom of God belongs to the children: Mark 10:14, Matthew
19:14. How possible if the children are born sinners?!
• A son doesn't bear his father's sin, nor vice versa. 7 verses from the

Oneness of Allah in Islam: Tauheed

Allah is one in essence and in His attributes

Allah is the sole creator. There is NO other creator along with Allah or besides Allah.

Allah is the sole entity to be worshiped No one with HIM or besides him

Allah should be worshiped directly, not through any intermediary

Divine Attributes of Allah solely belong to HIM. Attributes of Allah cannot be assigned to
anyone beside HIM or along with HIM.

Attributes of the creation cannot be assigned to Allah (swt)

There is none in the creation like HIM in any aspect.
