Skills & Accomplishments

In addition to a Diploma in Human Services-Therapeutic Recreation from NSCC (2015), I have

a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Diploma in Art Conservation. As a result, I have received a solid
foundation in fine art techniques and practice as well as in various craft processes (specifically
jewellery arts). I am a competent writer and have wide-ranging interests and abilities.
Through Recreation Therapy volunteer and placement experiences, I have added additional skills:

Plan and facilitate weekly Arts & Crafts programs for seniors and adults with disabilities
Facilitate Recreation Therapy programs for participants with a range of physical abilities
Facilitate Recreation Therapy programs for individuals with mental illness
Assist with art programming for young adults with Down syndrome (Team Possibles)
Assist Autism NSs Ben James Summer Camp staff with set-up and scheduling logistics
Provide chair yoga instruction
Provide one-on-one support for children and youth with ASD

In the course of my involvement in the Arts and Culture Sector, as a Jeweller and Art Conservator, I
have acquired specific skills and abilities, as demonstrated by the following activities:

I have always enjoyed a physically active lifestyle and have participated in a variety of recreational
sports (swimming, racket sports, cycling, running and dance) while maintaining a serious yoga
practice. Although not a Certified Yoga Instructor, I have completed a number of leadership
training courses in the field of Health & Wellness.
