HISTORY
Also known as: A nickname for a swimming competition: "Short Course Worlds"
(Austarillas: Dolphins)
Origin of name: Short Course Worlds is an international swimming competition. It is a very short
route of swimming (25meter) which is the main reason why it is often called Short Course Worlds.

Through some disabilities, they are also categorized by 2 ages differenced.

Swim School Association.

College that offers Sport: UCLA, UCSB, Pepperdine University, Calstate of Baskersfield,
etc.

BASICS
Objective: The objective of this sport is for the swimmers to come back home as fast as
possible without any viloation.
5 basic rules: Each of the different types of strokes are different.
Basic rule: Cannot do the following below!! * cannot cut the route!
Freestyle: Have to complete the whole route, cannot hold on to the wall while turning
around on the wall, cannot pull on the lane rope, and cannot be walking the way there.
Backstroke: Cannot change to the side of the breas tuntil you get asa close as possible to
the wall where you are going to turn by the wall.
Breaststroke: Should not be kicking in freestly or any kind of other style rather than
breaststroke, cannot touch more than one time for a turn or when finishing.
Butterfly: Cannot be using other strokes rather than the given style, also cannot touch
with only one hand at the turns or finish.

Number of Players: There is a team of 4 and most of the time versus between 1 per player in
the team. The number of players competing depends on how big the swimming pool arena is
(usually 6-8 players).
Scoring System: They score by how fast they took to get to the end of the route for
swimming. By this, they place the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
Surface /Court /Field of Play Description: The field for swimming is the swimming arena.
The swimming arena with the size of 2.5 meters wide and consists of 10 lanes. However
only 8 lanes are used to prevent from bouncing of the walls. The lanes are divided by a rope,
lane rope. These give space to each other for the swimmers to swim comfortably.
